Cliffnotes:

- Gave us a B grade
- Kelvin Joseph has talent, good project, some off-field issues
- Dallas drafted for good players, risk is that they weren't shy for character issues which is a risk
- Parsons was best LB we scouted, #9 on the big board
- Really liked how we upped the ante especially within run defense and putting some rigor behind it
- Osa didn't lose many wrestling matches once he got in high school so watch out 72 year-old Ric Flair
- Looks like a logjam at linebacker, what happens there?
- Feels like they missed out on the top corners and went with quantity, let's see how it goes
- Draft will be more of a slam dunk if our picks work out (shocking!)

Cliffnotes of cliffnotes :

They gave 22 teams a B or higher.
Kelvin Joseph was their 69th ranked player (that's round 3)
We have a lot of LBs and more character issue guys
We still need CBs...... ones that can actually cover an NFL WR.
We got a B!!

No doubt Joseph is a feast or famine pick, which I'm fine with....although Id be skeptical of this guy after handing over a signing bonus.

If he starts getting hurt....forget it. He won't deal w rehab.

Thing is, I don't think Dallas ever discounts players for things like off field issues or chronic injury.

They seemed to be all over him and were even trying to deal up to do it while there were some VERY good players left on the board.

My initial thought was they forced the pick after missing on a CB Thursday.

I wonder after being here for a year if McCarthy looked around and thought that this team has way too many nice guys on it.

Well, we don't want to make Jerry uncomfortable in the locker room. When he hoists that Lombardi, he wants to be the toughest SOB in the room.

I don't know. They were on a brink to draft another nice guy in Surtain. And even in the second round they tried to trade up for CB Campbell. So Parsons and Joseph were plan Bs.

We don't know the players b/c we have the laziest FO in the NFL. So we draft almost exclusively on measurables...... Joseph has great measurables. We just aren't sure he likes playing football.

They selected six straight defensive players. There's no question they were forcing picks.

Thats EXACTLY what they did. My only reservation about taking Parsons in the first was that they would reach in the 2nd out of desperation to get a CB. And thats EXACTLY what they did. If they werent so super focused they could have simply given up 5th and move up to get either Barmore or Moerhig. Either of those would have been a home run.

We lost 2 LB’s and LB is a core part of ST
I think we did pretty good Thursday and Saturday

I would add that many of the higher rated CB’s really weren’t suited for press corner. So that’s a factor when evaluating our picks there.

Joseph wasn't a reach, he is a 1st rd talent that only slipped due to character concerns.

Watching the telecast it was mentioned that Dallas is trying to trade up. They just couldn't find a dance partner.

If a team would have traded with Dallas, Barmore or Moerhrig would have been selected.

He is a guy that didnt play a lot of games in college and has big time character concerns. That is a reach in that regard. Talent isnt everything. These guys have to play and be coachable.

Would you rather have had Moerhig or Joseph at that spot?

Well........Pats traded up to get Barmore so someone was willing to do that one. And LV traded up right in front of us for Moerhig so they were also willing to do it. Cant say that no one was willing to do it.

I very much agree that both those guys would have been selected. When they couldnt get those guys they settled for Joseph. And when Mcneil and Milton went right in front of them in the 3rd round the panicked and took Osi as a fall back settle pick.
