Dallas has had some great linebackers through the years. Ware is going to the Hall of Fame. Ken Norton Jr was awesome here also. Not to mention those guys in the landry years.

I think the bar for parsons should be not punching any teammates in the face first before the hall of fame, thats just me.
I think the bar should be how many Hot Boyz he punches in the face before the Hall of Fame, but that's just me.

HUH?

so what was Lawrence Taylor? Derrick Thomas?
A linebacker typically plays off the ball and usually drops back into coverage on pass plays.

A defensive end plays on the ball and and usually rushes the passer on pass plays.

In reality, Demarcus Ware played like a defensive end.....and he was one of the best at it. I don’t care how he was “designated”.

How often did he drop back into coverage? 5% of passing plays? Exactly.....he was utilized mostly as an end.

Ware will be in in either 2022 or 2023, and Chuck Howley should have been in decades ago. Super bowl champion, Super Bowl MVP, 6 time all-pro, 1960s all-decade team and I believe at the time he retired he was the all time leader in INTs among linebackers. Apart from the defensive MVP award, his career compares favorably to Dick Butkus who is often put in greatest LB ever conversations.

Cowboys have 16 people in the HOF and zero of them are at LB.
Not saying Parsons is a future member, just alittle surprising.
Not surprising considering the lack of DL talent, our LBs are better swimmers than LBs.

Was Charles Haley thought of as a LB? Maybe at SF where they made an elephant position for him. But I always think of him as a DE.

Charles Haley was basically a LB. If you say Ware is a LB then Haley is too. It just depends on how you define that pass rusher position. The Cowboys have a few obvious guys from the 70s defenses that really should be in already. Chuck Howley and Lee Roy Jordan should be in. Too Tall Jones and Harvey Martin should be in. I'm not sure DD Lewis is a HOF guy but he should be in the Ring. Jones and Martin should be in the Ring of Honor too.
