I agree. I think sometimes these GM's over think the draft.I think when you try to pigeonhole your draft picks, you are setting yourself up for missed opportunities at best and failure at worst.
There is no perfect formula for drafting, or else teams would not need 7 rounds of picks each year.

So they’re old(er) and have a lot of miles on them before even entering the nfl? How is that a good thing
This actually may have been a good conservative approach in this year of limited information (opt outs, no combine, etc.). I assume they all played last year and they would have the largest body of work to evaluate.
