I think when you try to pigeonhole your draft picks, you are setting yourself up for missed opportunities at best and failure at worst.

There is no perfect formula for drafting, or else teams would not need 7 rounds of picks each year.

I agree. I think sometimes these GM's over think the draft.

I like the Steelers draft philosophy. They always (mostly) draft big and physical players. That's so Pittsburgh Steelers-ish.

P.S.- New England does that a lot also.

I remember a few years back the Cowboys drafted mostly players that were their college team captains.

I think the advantage would be you have more tape on these players since they mostly likely played more games than someone who came out early.
You have more to go by verses someone who only had one good year and came out early.

Also, having exhausted their college eligibility, they probably had the most time and experience to develop their craft. Not a bad idea.
