I still think they overpaid for him.....considering what some other guys got elsewhere, and the team supposedly cap strapped.

Guess they didn't want 2017 to look like a total waste.

The first thing I thought about was that Booger had created a logoed "Lewis in the Box" toy for Christmas.

No one wants to actually talk about the OP’s topic lol? Lewis said earlier in the year in an interview after resigning that Dan Quinn told him he will be able to fly around and make plays rather than be solely a traditional CB.

Lewis is probably our best tackler in the secondary and has shown the ability to be a versatile chess piece like when he took Kamara out of the passing game in 2018. Seems to me Quinn did a real dive into what puts Lewis in the best position to succeed and is applying it. IMO this plan for Lewis was the biggest reason he was resigned, they won’t make him solely a slot CB because he would be a pure backup.

In this pseudo S/Nickel role J.Lew is in a good position to make plays and succeed.

unless it's a position switch where he has more a chance to compete for a long term starter, i just dont get why they re-signed him to that kind of contract .
Even if Brown was outta the picture, Lewis would still being going up against 3rd rd draftee Lashon Wright for that 3rd CB role, .and then that would be big money to a 4th CB ?

several times i've always heard and observed Stephen Jones implying that you don't give average players good money.
well Jordan is an average player, a backup reserve, a limited pure slot guy but they gave him a contract like he was gonna be one of their 3 best starting CBs.?

Unless it's a move to FS where he could compete against 1 year rental or prove it with FA vet Damontae Kazee, i just don't see it .. i just dont get ..

Either " being in a box " spells safety - to which why would a guy that size be best in the box ?

And wouldn't Lewis be better suited to single high safety in the middle of the field - per his ball hawk and best forwarding skills ?

What's yawn about wanting to know what position he's referring to? In the box? Is he gong to be in the slot or at FS?
The yawn is who cares? Lol hes another player thats been here for almost 5 years. He is what he is. And he got embarassed in multiple games. Needs to be quiet like the rest if the dydes who played trash. If you arent gregory, dlaw, diggs or wilson shut the hell up

I'm not sure what/where he is referring to, safety?

“I’m going to be in the box,” Lewis said. “I’m going to be able to make plays around the field and move around the field. It’s going to be cool.”

he is fiesty, although a bit under sized and not as fast.....his best place is obviously in the slot and he has shown he can blitz from time to time.....I think he can have a great role in this defense.

LOL. Lewis is funny. Poor thing didn't expect to be re-signed. That's what I like about Jerry & Son, they DO give players 2nd chances. In ALL categories.
