The thread is about being the best offense in the league

Why would you not want those extra points in the first half to move them up to the top of the league.

No, but I would think if you have the money invested and the players the cowboys have on offense, they should be able to do that to atleast a few teams this season. If you look at teams with dominant defenses in the league, they have games where they hold teams to shutouts and below 10 points. That is all 4 quarters. I would think an offensive based team can do the opposite of that
who said I don't want the extra points? I want 30 points per half if possible. however, the demise of the team wasn't due to slow starts as many have claimed it to be and made it their rallying cry.....but I do like the fact that the offense seems to raise their game in the second half where most games are won and lost....in the middle of all the bruhaha, everyone forgets that we are one of the better teams in the second half and 4th quarter, which always gives the team a chance to win. I take that as a positive.

defense was dead last at 32nd in first half. slightly better in the second half at 19th....

defense was never average.

You now, that is exactly what I said. It's amazing you actually used your reading comprehension skills correctly. I am impressed. A first time for everything.
troll. like I said....

your life must be so meaningless and empty, given you have no interest in engaging in football discussion and openly admit you are only here to troll and get reactions and be a pest to others....

why is your life so empty and void that you feel the need to act as such? do you not get enough social interaction with your friends? or should I ask how many friends do you have if any given you enjoy trolling. trolling, being annoying, etc. are usually acts of people who are lonely and want reaction and interaction, often feeling they are not interesting or no one wants to talk to them and thus acting like a troll gets "some" reaction from people and makes them feel like they are socializing. perhaps this went over your head. let me know and I will simplify it.

Being the "best offense" isn't as important as the ability to get a lead and keep it. For this, you have to have a defense that compliments the offense. A decent defense can make a good offense so much better. That is what this team needs to take the next step. Some of the posts in this thread are just unrealistic and ridiculous. We don't have to score in every quarter or but a 40 burger on every team. We just have to get a good lead and keep it.

When I see/hear about a team that has great second halves, it begs the question - why didn't they do that in the first half? Maybe because the other team eased off on defense, at least some, after they got a lead? So the "comeback" team didn't really do anything much different, the other team let them off the hook somewhat.

To me it's similar to bragging about some quarterbacks "comeback" victories. Wouldn't have to "comeback" if they took care of business in the first half. How many NFL teams have had the moniker "Cardiac..."? I remember the 1970's "Cardiac Cardinals", in 1974-75 they went 10-4 and 11-3 with stirring comeback victories, only to lose in the first round of the playoffs both years, e.g.

Maybe in the "modern" NFL teams can too easily roar back in the second half, with the current rules, and getting ahead and staying ahead is more difficult. But that's what I'd prefer to see...

offense, defense special teams all have to do their job. on top of that a semi-competent coach who can make the right calls at the right time during the game. offense doing their job is what they did. however, defense has to do theirs....and like I said, a competent coach who doesn't grab defeat from jaws of victory.....

This top offense had a tendency to start out games slow and then have to catch up at the end. It is also not an offense that dominated. There is a difference from saying good offense and top offense.

I think the slow starts and first quarter turnovers actually played a pretty big part in the demise of the team and made our defense look even worse than it was (and it was really bad).

Can’t wait for the excuses to start when the best offense in the NFL doesn’t live up to expectations.
You seem eager for the Cowboys to suck and to say "I told you so"

Seems a Cowboy fan would say he disagrees about the Cowboy offense being that good, but would be happy if he were proved wrong.

In any case, I doubt many here are going to say the Cowboys are clearly the best, but I think it should be clear the Cowboys have the potential to be top 5 anyway.

Best offense in the NFL? It's a real reach to try and place the Cowboys offense ahead of Kansas City. I think we could do well if we stay healthy, but the KC offense is #1.

I for one like it when the expectations of the media pundits are low for this team. It gives the team fuel to prove they're better than they are thought of.
Conversely, I hate it when they get crowed pre-season super bowl champs about to light up the league and smash records. We never seem to handle those expectations very well.

They were the #1 offense last year before Dak went down.
