Well coaches sure do.
Do they? Think any one of them is going to say openly something designed by the owners for the express purpose of charging full price for that product is not beneficial? They have to walk the company line.

I agree. Starters I think coaches have a pretty good ideal but you got backups and bubble players who can still be in the mix in terms of making a team.
Yep and that's why for me at least I enjoy pre-season games. I played baseball and of course there were tryouts every year. Fond memories.

You seem to be a little jaded and overthinking this. The coaches coach. Currently there's 90 players vying either for a position with the Cowboys are putting out good tape via these preseason games. They are extremely important to not only the players but the coaches as well.

I don't think it is a company line, I think very often you have a couple of spots and more than a couple of players competing for those roster spots. I do think starting jobs are pretty much set by this time but those backup roles can often come down to 1 final game in pre season

Against a bunch of other bubble players, what do they learn? How well a player does against another player destined for Home Depot?

I do agree that the coaches have a plan on what they're using them for but they all know what they're seeing isn't real.

I am still not over being forced to buy two pretend games at full price in August in Texas Stadium when I had season tickets. That last year I couldn't give them away and my wife wouldn't go to game until October. The old TS was among the worst places I ever watched a football game in Aug/Sept, it was stifling. I hoped they start serving beans so at least some farts would create some wind. And a day game to open the season when the sun hits was what I picture home games in Hell are like.

Lighten up. If you don't like preseason games don't go and don't watch. But don't act like they don't mean anything to the players and the coaches because they most certainly do.

they learn how they compete vs live unrehearsed competition. As for ticket prices I agree pre season games cost too much but when cutting a roster down from 90 to 53 you will have some guys who are competing for a very limited number of spot remaining and while it may not be as entertaining to the fan coaches still look at the individual competition for these roster spot and even spots on PS. Add to that other teams are looking as well as to find players to fill out there own roster. Clearly I am not talking about front line players but guys who are working and competing for a spot on the team.

It isnt boring if you look at them the right way.
it is a chance to see the new guys and guys trying to make a team, and you wont see them during the regular season, except for a few.
We get a first look at parsons joseph and the other draft picks.

It is not about winning the game, although it is fun if they do.

funny thing is you have a view on one side, coach has a view on the other...im kinda in the middle

Its better than no football and sure you get to see a few picks out there but they will be with 2nd and 3rd stringers at times so you dont get to see their full potential. I also could care less about winning the games.

in the end I’d rather have them than not have them but don’t really care about them much outside of a few series here and there

Thank you for your permission. I don't go to regular season games so preseason ones are out of the question. I only watch to participate in the Preseason HOF selections.

And I can act any way want to. Act out, act up, act the fool, act naturally, act like your words don't hurt me and according to some, act like a moderator.

I don't care what anyone says, I missed preseason last year.
Me too. The key for me is I don't get wrapped up in winning or losing with all the mixing and matching of players, I use it to try and get a feel for the new players.

Better go undefeated.
You’re going to whine like little cork no matter what the Cowboys do who are you trying to kid? More likely you’ll just sink back under your rock because you don’t have the gonads to admit your wrong.

You “play to win the game” homers already backing off expectations the team go out and win every game?
