“I’ve buried the injury,” Prescott said Wednesday after what ended up being the final practice of the mandatory minicamp for the Cowboys, who used the last of the three days for team bonding.

“I’ve buried it mentally," he said. "And I think you guys and a lot of people around have to help me and bury it as well as we move forward. Put that right on the tombstone.”

Dak needs to go over to Cooper and motivate him to get out on that practice field. Hey Cooper, enough of this chess playing. This leading by example thing just isn't working.
Just kidding folks. Maybe. Somewhat.

I don't believe him. He can run full speed, do all of the cuts, but he's not over that injury mentally. And that's a good thing. Because now we'll see him slide after picking up first downs on scrambles. We don't need anymore of Dak fighting for every inch he can get.
Safety First.

Live to fight another day, Dak.

Haha.....we will see very soon if he wants to pick up a 1st down with his feet, or make a business decision. I know where I'm putting my money.

Come September 9th, you know its going to be talked about before the game, during the game (likely with replays), and after the game. And somebody is going to ask, "How did the ankle feel?"

But the kid has the right idea. So many times you read about the injuries and the player says its a mental thing that is hard to get passed.

The injury is "buried"...but its "ghost" will be around. By ghost, I mean mention of the injury. It will be part of the narrative not just during the season opener - but throughout Prescott's 2021 season. The broadcast team for each Cowboy game will refer to it briefly at one time or another during the telecast.

He’s recovering from surgery
No reason to rush him back
His surgery I believe was in January

The mental aspect may take time, hopefully not.

Dak’s second surgery was in December. But, I cede to you your point about the huge difference between Jan and Dec. Just kidding. I thought he had surgery a little later than January.

I agree no need to rush anyone back. I expect Cooper to be there in Sep. In the meantime, I am looking forward to the other UFA WRs. Vasher, Parker, Eagles, etc.

Bury all the injuries, they are in the past. Dak will be better than ever and so will the OL and Blake Jarwin.

Hey Joe, I hope you aren’t just peddling some ‘snake oil.’ Because I’m buying. Now give me a jar or two of that new Parson’s Special. I’ll take a jar of the best-selling Nahshon Wright Too.

I'm sure those rookies will find some kind of role on this defense. I'm not sure where but Quinn will find something for them to do.

This is my concern, at least for the first half of the 2021 season. It is not a knock on Dak. Most injured players take a while to get over the mental aspect of getting seriously injured. If Dak is different then great, but I think we are all waiting to see what happens the first time no one is open and there is an open field for him to run to.

Prescott has been an underdog his entire life. He's done nothing but overcome adversity and prove everyone wrong who doubted him. If anyone is headstrong enough to move on, it's him. Besides, 80% Dak is better than anything we fielded last year combined.

If that was his thinking, he wouldn't have run last year when he didn't have a contract. Now with 160 million in contract and probably another 50 million in endorsements, I don't think he gives a crap where you put your money.

Dak's always for the most part been pretty good at not taking unnecessary contact. He would always fight for the extra yard if he got 9 and he needed 10 or something like that but for the most part he does pretty good of not taking that type of contact. Not only that but he really doesn't' scramble as much as he could probably.

I also think you can't take that out of a player. I think we saw it with Marion Barber and Dez Bryant. You can't take physicality out of their game. Who knows with Dak though. I think his injury was somewhat a freak situation honestly.
