Yea ....... 30 year old guys with ten career sacks really break the bank.

He has more failed drug tests than sacks in his career.

If he had been diagnosed as bipolar the league would have made considerations for him instead of suspending him multiple times ....... just like they did with Alonzo Spellman.

Gregory isn't going anywhere. They aren't going to let him walk after being so patient with over the years.

That and Gregory already knows the drill, he would already be out of the league if it wasnt for Dallas.
Maybe Im just a dreamer to think that Gregory knows his best situation is right here, and just let Jerry take care of him.

He will be 29 in Nov

So 30 next year when he supposedly will break the bank.

If he does play at a high level, what type of contract do you think he will get, will the cowboys be able to afford it, are their players you would rather sign, is there a better L DE that the cowboys will field or be able to draft/obtain?

I am in the belief that you should draft a DE in the first 3 rounds every year.
I am not paying someone as unreliable as Gregory a big contract ........ if he plays out of his mind next year i would give him a good, not great, contract.

This is the one player I would expect to give a discount......RG should be extremely nice to the Jones when it comes to his next contract..lets hope he does.

He should give a discount. But if I'm the FO I'd signup asap. Stop waiting till the perform in their contract year. It didn't work for Prescott. It probably won't work with other players too like Gregory.

Lets see how he does this year before we start talking about the cost of an extension.

This was stated before the 1.2.3.4.

It is an assumption that he will have a monster year, but I think he will. The pretense of the thread is that Gregory is top 3 or so in sacks.

I mean what have we really gotten out of RG? It's not like we're losing a corner stone player if he don't sign back with us. He had a lot of potential, but he just couldn't stop getting in his own way. The only reason we're even going to see him play this year is not because he's a changed man, but because of a rule change.

I expect him to go where the money is good year or not. Whoever offers the most he'll take it.

it was stated how i intended and how it fell in line..so AGAIN WE CAN WAIT LIKE 14 OTHER players from draft's& FA to be judged until they actually play 2021.......:oldcouple:

Randy Gregorys contract is up after this year.

It is an assumption that he will have a monster year, but I think he will. The pretense of the thread is that Gregory is top 3 or so in sacks. The cowboys are paying a high priced DE, QB, WR, LB'er, and offensive tackles.

1. Can the cowboys have 2 high priced DE's
2. For people who know the cap, do they currently have the money to sign him
3. If the cowboys sign Gregory, what major players can't they sign
4. If they do sign him, I am assuming that will mean cheap contracts and league minimums at a lot of positions. Do you think the cowboys have filled their roster holes well, and have they done well with all the young guys on their team

As far as the money and cap issues on this thread, if you don't know the books and the cap, don't answer that part
I see no reason to believe he’s gonna be top 3 or top 10 in sacks
I also don’t see just everyone wanting to give a huge deal to him even if he has a great year
I hope it’s a problem we have to worry about but it’s way down the lists of things I even think about
