Ezekiel Elliott, how many yards do we really need from him

I thought about that my cowboy brother. I just don’t know how much he likes sharing the ball. But you’re spot on if we average 10020 rushing yards a game. We’re doing a damn good

This would be amazing. I like your high standards.

He needs 11,971 yards to tie the all-time rushing record. If he can get that next year, only then will he redeem himself to me. Anything less than we should have drafted Ramsey.
I think we should have drafted Ramsey also . But that’s no longer a discussion. If we see 1000 yards. That tells me the offense of line is doing its job and Eli is having a decent season. I really want the touchdowns. So I don’t care how many yards he gets

If we can keep him a couple yards from the breakfast table we will be just fine......

Multi-run threat offense. Zeke, Pollard, Dak, Lamb. We shouldn't just spread the carries around, it should be unclear who is getting the ball on any given snap.

The days of "we're running this guy and you can't stop us" are done. Especially for Zeke. Mixing it up to increase uncertainty in the defense is the name of the game. That's how you get the most total production, and more efficient production per player.

Love the thought, but those days were done years before we drafted Zeke tbh. It’s why we haven’t gone far in the playoffs lately.

Let’s talk about production. OK so you’re the league leading rusher. What did those yards do. You start on your own 20 yard line. By the time you get to the red zone. You’re not as fresh. No I’d rather see more balance going down the field. And then use every bit of energy to pound the ball into the end zone. No, this is as much on coaching as it is on anything else. Special teams should be much better the season so we don’t have to start every drive on are side of the field. I guess there’s a reason why there’s only one rushing title leader with the ring . Some fans don’t think an extra game is a big deal. Ask the players at the end of the season how big of a deal it is. Go cowboys

Its more about TD's. Zeke has to get in when were are inside the 10 and he has to hit some longer runs. Has to make a difference. Eating up yards because you get 300 carries isnt enough. He needs to score and be the reason we are winning games.

Cowboys should be a top offense if not THE top offense in the NFL this year. With a passing game like we have and a healthy Oline, Zeke should be tearing it up. Any good RB should be tearing it up. He should have 2000 combined yards and 15-20 TD's in this offense.

The post was a jest. I’m fine with the Zeke pick tbh.
He needs around 5,000 yards maybe with about 250ish carries next year. No matter if it’s mathematically impossible. He needs to make it happen.

I would not expect over 1,500 from Zeke, if we can get 1,200 with around 12 to 15 TD from him, he is in the flow of this offense. Our OL needs to be able to punch it in from inside the 10 yard line with Zeke or whoever the back is at the time. Kellen Moore's play calling in the red zone will be key. Hope he's up to it.

1,100-1,200 yards

What we really need to do is stop lining him outside as a receiver. He doesn’t need to be catching 50-60 balls.

17 games im expecting a bit more then his career avg which was around 1350 before last season so 1450 10+ Tds and 400 yards receiving.. Pollard needs more reps but our pass happy OC wont be able to find enough rushing yards for our backs..i hope im wrong but KM irks me, i find him irksome from the run game standpoint..lol

So its Moore's fault that he hands the ball to Zeke and he cant get in? Zeke has been sooo bad down by the GL that Moore had to start calling Dak's number down by the GL running it in.

Are you insinuating that the Cowboys throw a lot under Moore by design?

It depends on the offensive line.
I have little confidence in their offensive line.

Elliot didn't get his 1000 yards last year.
I don't think he'll get it this year either, even with an extra game.

Which brings up the question, is 1000 yards still the benchmark for NFL RBs?
Shouldn't it be closer to 1300 yards?

Strange that Moore rarely asks Dak to hit the TE or the slot receiver coming across the endzone, isn't it?
