Multiple teams called McClay that they got their guy. Rarely can you sneak mid round picks to the practice squad and once there they are it is still easy pickens like Michael Jackson two years ago.

Understood...I can see them gambling though. Unless of course, he shows out in preseason.

He is one of the more exciting draft picks with his combination of size and big play ability. However, Wilson and Brown will be in the mix for the 4th and 5th roster spots. Those spots usually come down to ST.

Saying that, do you think Simi Fehoko is a lock to make the final roster
We have a lot of good receivers this year....

Fifth round comp pick. Just a few picks above the 6th round. Those aren't guys you have to keep.

Read a prediction for offensive roster. I think at BTB. They had Brandon Smith as the 5th WR, CWilson as 4th, Simi as PS.

Brandon Smith seems a nice ST guy, and a good red zone specialist. No speed, but strong in the bench and vertical, explosive. with 34 inch arms. Seems very much a replacement for what Noah Brown was supposed to be, only much more athletic. Noah's RAS score was only 5.48.

At 6-foot-1, 218 pounds, Smith has a pretty rare frame for the wide receiver position and rare explosiveness to go along with it... In addition to having a big, strong frame, Smith has unique length for the position with a wingspan of 81.5 inches and arm length of 34 1/4 inchces.

Huh. But Simi is kinda a freak too. Very fast for his size.

4.37 Combine time. Also is coming out as a junior.
Ha! This chart has Simi and Brandon Smith at the exact same RAS, 9.17.

Let's see if these guys can play.

Farniok is another freak. 9.9 in his RAS. I'm noticing a trend with these late picks.

And our final freak of the day, another 34 inch arms guy.

Hopefully, he'll be tested thoroughly in TC. If he makes the grade, at least, for the ST unit, he'll have a decent chance. We'll see.

NO not a lock for a late-round pick but its good to keep the roster churning. If Wilson Fehoko and Brown are on the same playing field or close go with the youth he has abetter upside

He's a day 3 pick, not a 1st round pick.

Far from a lock.

Will he be given more chances over an UFA? Sure.
But I doubt if he is struggling on ST, and can't catch a cold they will guarantee him a spot.

Late picks and UDFA are never locks.
He is of course an excellent possibility given his youth, upside and athleticism. Outside WR also make excellent STers generally.

I'll say no. I think they will hope he can be slipped onto the PS.
given the fact alone they received several phone calls after we selected him saying we wanted him and you just got one of the biggest steals in the draft we keep him this year on active roster.

FWIW. Most of the people on the cowboys.com
Podcasts. Said Fehoko didn’t look that impressive at rookie camp, OTA and mini camp. Of course, it’s still early.

we will get to see a lot of him in pre season games I imagine.

I heard the same.

But in my opinion, I think Fehoko will be given every opportunity to make the roster. I think they knew he needed some development when they drafted him.

Add up the free agent wide receivers for next year, and a potentially uncertain future given Cooper’s big contract, and the team’s cap issues for next year. I think those factors improve Fehoko’s chances. If it’s close between him and soon-to-be free agent Noah Brown, I think Fehoko would get the nod.

I see too many other upcoming question marks to not keep a guy you have under contract for four years. Unless he totally stinks it up.

So while I don’t call him a “lock”, I do think he’ll be given every opportunity to stick.

Cant vote, because there are 10 other prospects competing for that job,, Fehoko gets a roster spot from draft stock alone at this point, but there will be some crazy competition taking place and a big reason why HBO wants this gig.
Bet its HBO first focus on the roster with Hard Knocks.

They will probably keep 6 WR's. Who do you have them keeping at this point?

-Lamb, Cooper, Gallup, Wilson..................................who else?

Outside of Lamb, Coop and Gallup I wouldnt call Wilson a lock but Im not counting him out either.
There are 11 WRs competing for the last 2 or 3 WR spots depending if we keep 5 or 6.
Like the size and speed packages that all these prospects have so will be very interesting watching who in this group starts to separate themselves from the pack in camp.

So wont list them? If Wilson doesnt get injured, he is a lock.

Lets take a look at some of these names,, us fans have a bit of homework to do quickly, so not to appear foolish once camp begins and these names begin getting lost in translation.
Simi Fehoko
Matt Farniok
Austin Faoliu
Luckily....we can just spell and do not have to pronunciate. Copy and paste more like.
