Distraction is my main concern. I don't know the kid personally so, i will hold judgement. He also needs to beat out Fatman Boss.

I'm with ya brother. We be sailing on the same boat.Distraction is my main concern. I don't know the kid personally so, i will hold judgement.
I really want to see Dan Quinn succeed, which means we succeed - but his entire stint in Dallas will be judged by this pick. There’s simply been too much discussion and second-guessing for it to be any other way. Can’t wait to watch him in preseason.
The Cowboys want to sit in cover 3 all game and he looks like he can do the job of a cover 3 guy.
He was a huge reach but he is intriguing and I’ve heard he’s looked good in all of their camps.
Do you find it ironic that you were the one preaching all offseason how corners arent important in Quinns defense?
Then they go out and nab two of them in the 2nd and 3rd rounds? Clearly it was a huge offseason priority with the draft.
This sort of realism truly beats the hell out of my idea that every year is our year.So not really his size just generic terms of tall and long so you can expand the list of success stories as much as possible.
I think it's idiotic to select the two 6'4" defensive backs in this draft when players that size rarely amount to anything. It's hard enough to find players in the draft. To choose this pool to fish in is beyond me.
This is nothing more than Marinelli all over again. A defensive coordinator getting to draft players to satisfy a fetish. For a head coach that ran his fat mouth about how he believes you just take good football players and scheme around them.
Of course Quinn isn't being criticized for it now. He the new guy. We're in the pretend he's the answer period of his tenure but when he's gone you'll agree with me.
I think Merton Hanks was 6'3". He was the last Tall CB I remember. Hated the "Chicken neck" dance. I think his neck was a foot Tall.
A lot of them seemed to be done at our expense.Couldn't agree more. I couldn’t stand his dance. Lol

Is there no real chance we all dance in the aisles one day?
MM was also impressed enough with Nolan to hire him as DCIt's no secret that Quinn likes to have big boundary corners. Wright standing at 6-foot-4 was a pivotal reason for Dallas being interested in selecting him. MM is very impressed w/the kid.
They're the only "experts" I believe. The kid will make the 53. BOOM!
Two decades later - the Cowboys were universally panned for picking another OL player with the next-to-last pick in the 2013 draft because he was projected as a 2nd or 3rd round selection.@MWH1967 If I remember correctly, Jerry was panned for taking some OL from Sonoma State in the second round. The internet was in its infancy back in 1994 so the ridicule was limited to the talking head experts.
Can’t remember who said it (maybe Belichick) that there isn’t much difference in talent for players taken in rounds 3-7. Development depends on work ethic, practice reps, and opportunity. Hard to show much if one only gets 20 3rd string reps each practice and some second half preseason vanilla reps.
Also they wanted one in the 1st. Can you imagine missing out on Parsons and rolling with LVE and Jaylon. Personally I like a strong front 7.

1st rounders - great talent usually good character@MWH1967 If I remember correctly, Jerry was panned for taking some OL from Sonoma State in the second round. The internet was in its infancy back in 1994 so the ridicule was limited to the talking head experts.

I'm with you on scheme. The two 6'4" guys were so much of a push its development that is the bigger deal.I was baffled with all picks between Parsons and Cox…but now appears to be that coaches were looking for players to fit a scheme. Hope it works.
This comment actually highlights one of the things I'm hoping to see at camp. I want one of them, don't care which one, to ball out to the point they get the job. I hope someone doesn't get it by default. I hope all of them play well and one still rises to the top.Bossman would like a word....

yeah lol..I'm not really counting him at all because he has already shown to be flighty. Not so sure he will be in the mix to start right away. Maybe down the line. I think to date, Nashon has proven to be more reliable...as they say, the best trait he has shown is availability. Thats a Parcelsism lol.He also needs to beat out Fatman Boss.

Really?I don't know what to make of Wright. Too early to tell. OTAs and rookie camps don't mean much. We really need to wait until training camp and preseason games to see if he has anything.
But, sometimes the experts get it wrong about players. Most of the time they are right though.
