Stealers also play in one of the easiest divisions. Browns and Bengals have been two of the cheapest teams since like forever. Browns only recently decided to spend a little.

I wish the Cowboys would have played the last 25 years with 2 cupcakes like the Browns and Bengals. Pretty easy to beat chump teams like that.

Some of those Bengals teams would have throttled this Cowboys team. The Ravens and Steelers would have danced on this teams' face. For the most part, the Cowboys have benefited from a much weaker division. I would enjoy to be in the division with both the Ravens and Steelers. That would make winning the division (and making the playoffs) actually mean something.

Why 25 years and not 30 or so years?

Because no other GM keeps his job based off the Cowboys last 10 years, much less 25.

But yes, let's go back 30 years to justify his continued presence in that role. :muttley:

The excuses people make for the Jones Boys Fantasy Football Front Office never cease to amaze me. 25 years of nothing, missing the playoffs 14 times since 2000, summed up in "yebbut, their division is weaker".

20 teams have played in a Super Bowl since Dallas last got to one. The Jones Boys have been running the show the entire time. It's that darned division! :muttley:

Yeah, my previous post implies the same concerning the Steelers and Ravens. Even the Bengals have won more games the last couple decades than WFT so I'm not sure of the point on this one.

How could the Stealers have the 29th ranked OL when they have one of the bestest ever ‘real GMs?’
There really good 2010s era offensive line finally came to an end.

3 different pro bowlers are gone (Pouncy retired, Villanueva was cut due to injuries, and DeCastro might retire).

There basically what the cowboys o-line was last year (pro bowl center, guard, and tackle all gone)

It's one of the most unique/agenda groups of the board. Ninja Jerry defense team.
Strangely enough I agree with countless Ninja posts on salary related, Dak stuff and other personnel issues.

He did say when I posted to him about his love of this Front Office's drafting that they had done poorly in contract writing so he did show some balance.

But I will never understand this disease of non accountability for Jerry Jones specific role as GM.

The title itself carries a job description whose titleholder has failed at miserably for a quarter century and yet he can't be held liable...?

Gotta love the variety of this board, all different types, lol

Nothing but love Ninja

Some members of our fan base suffer from the NFL's version of Stockholm Syndrome, where victims bond with their abusers, to the point of absurdity.

"Schmidlap, I'm going to have to let you go. Your sales figures for the last 25 years have been subpar and you've been given far more time than any other salesman to show improvement. I should've fired you a decade ago when you brought on that redheaded intern with no experience."

"But boss, 28 years ago I had the best numbers in the company and did it again the next year!"

"Golly, Schmidlap, you're right. What was I thinking? Now get back out there and replicate 1993 again. I know you can do it!"

Yep, exactly. Hard laughter here. Appreciate it. And your choice of Schmidlap, priceless.

Hard to believe that guy is still working. I guess that old saying, only so many 300 lbs human beings on the planet is really true. But I'm still shocked.

What’s your point?

TB GM only made the playoffs for the first time last year in his 6th or 7th year. He hit on some good draft picks like Evans. He signed Arians, who is a really good coach. He got lucky the Patriots dumped Brady. He signed a controversial Antonio Brown. He made some atrocious decisions like drafting a kicker in the 2nd round who stunk.

Brady shows up and works his Midas touch.

Had the Cowboys dumped Dak and went with Brady, what would have happened last year?

My point? :) You seem triggered as if someone just gave you a giant wedgie.

Stealers signed The Chaz Green.
Sam Young started 7 games for the Raiders last year.

Which one is more surprising?
Don’t anyone say it. He is not coming back here. Dak would have a heart attack.

People like to dump on Chaz, but I put the Atlanta debacle all on the coaching staff.

Chaz started a game for Tyron the previous year, and was fine. Then in the offseason, they decide to switch this young and not so great T to a new position, OG. Then they switch him back, no prep, and clearly no *evaluation*, to play LT midseason. Well, Green was not prepared to play T. That's on the coaches, not him.

When he was *prepared* to play T, he was fine. When he wasn't prepared, he was horrible. Moral of the story: make sure that young players are prepared to play the position you put them in.

Let's give it up for Sam Young....being in the league 11 years and a former 6th round pick.....I had no clue he was still in this league....wow.

The team switched his position because they thought he could do it. They kept letting him get beat to allow him to redeem himself....he just couldn't. I don't think asking him to switch positions should've resulted in what we saw in Atlanta that day.

And he actually has good feet. He probably performs well when he works out for teams. He's just not a very good football player.

Nothing wrong with his ability, never has been. Always been his want to IMO.
