And I don't have a problem with him as the owner/GM, I do not like him. He can do whatever he wants with the team, it's his, I just wish he'd shut up and go away and stop stroking himself on his self importance.
I don’t like him as the GM but don’t know him personally.

Edited the tweet for language, but Jerry, on Jimmy, did he finally admit he messed it up?

Jerry Jones talking about Jimmy Johnson, mentioned the time Barry Switzer
wanted to get Jerry and Jimmy in the same room. “I wanted to get both you
###holes on this coach and ask you how you could **** this up.”
Jerry added: “I’ve never been able to know why I ****** it up.”

Jerry was the owner, Jimmy's ego screwed it up! He didn't know his place..as a former coach, screw him!

I first met him in Green Bay , Oct 1989.
Ok.

I’ve met both of them . Was one of the first fans to use the Cowboys Travel Club which was created when Jones bought the team. Ran into several times at the team hotels we stayed at on the road. He was always appreciative of our support and took time to acknowledge. And at Training Camp he’d say hello as well. Very personable.

-------JJ is so dang passionate about DC football, you have to respect that.

To a point....but he still gets a big fat F for not hiring the best coaches possible, and obviously turning over the GM position to a real expert.

Jerry is holding out on Jimmy for the ROH because his ego cannot stand the embarrassment of how long and loud the crowd will cheer and go APE S when Jimmy's name is announced while he is standing shoulder to shoulder with him on the field....I think Jerry all along has planned to put Jimmy in the ROH after a Cowboys Super Bowl appearance season, where Jerry's credibility would surely be on a high.....obviously, that hasn't happened.....so here we are with poor Jimmy getting screwed out of an honor he richly deserves.

Screw the ROH . It has no real meaning anymore. It’s just the approval of one idiot.

It wasn't just Jerry's ego....Jimmy was super vicious and nasty towards Jerry from what I've read. Everyone blames Jerry but honestly if any of that is true I would definitely have done the same. Jimmy didn't exactly light it up everywhere else he went so not sure if it wasn't a little bit of both that won the SBs. Jimmy's football eye and Jerry's business savvy was the perfect gumbo. What a shame.
Yep, Jimmy is definitely not without blame. He was seriously considering being the Jags first coach. Look at his track record as a head coach...5 years at OK St., then 5 years at the U, then 5 with Dallas. He was ready to take on the next challenge. Granted, Jerry had a lot to do with Jimmy being ready to go.

Just shows how classy and good natured Barry Switzer was and how he was thrust into a difficult situation . He still won a SB and should have had 2 id not for an unlucky game of turnovers against the miners in the CCG .

-------Y'all need to get past this. It was a long time ago. Time to focus on the present. It's not like Johnson is going to magically come back to this team or any other team and win multiple Super Bowls. He is happy down in Florida.

Will NEVER get past it....will never get past the fact that Jimmy would not have pissed away games in the 1994 season and had us playing the NFC Championship game in San Francisco....it would have been in Texas stadium, and we would be looking back at a run of 4, maybe 5 straight Championships. ZERO sympathy for that old crypt keeper....he has totally taken the fun and "serious" optimism out of Cowboys football for 2 1/2 straight decades....as will Chuckles, when Jerry kicks the bucket.

Jimmy’s ego was definitely huge as well . He disrespected Jerry on many occasions and could not stand giving Jerry any credit , which Jerry deserved for some bold moves and owning the frenchise. Jerry’s ego and meddling was huge but Jimmy was negotiating with the Jaguars anyway and was leaving regardless . But Jerry got all the blame .

-------Maybe there's still hope for us winning with Jerry in charge? Now that he's learned this lesson.

HAHAHAHAHAHA.......you think he has learned his lesson???? Ok....lets see how long of a leash he gives Corky.....and if/when Corky is fired, lets see who the replacement is....both of these litmus tests will speak volumes.

Jerry screwed up, but Jimmy WAS NOT staying anyway.
He was burned out and, as always...no exceptions, was ready for a new challenge.

Jimmy wanted out after Jerry started in with "being part of the fun". He was angling to change their original agreement and Jimmy wanted nothing to do with it. If all was sailing along as it should've been, he stays! But it was definitely Jerry who started pushing the wrong buttons.
