Yet the longer Dallas goes without adding another Lombardi Trophy to its case, the more questions will be raised about whether Jones should hand the chief roster-building decisions to someone else.

The answer is simple, he hands over the title of GM either when he dies.

I can't say I care for him being so hands on as a GM but it's his team. At this point no point being frustrated over it.

A survey of NFL agents about Dallas Cowboys owner Jerry Jones, who also serves as the team's general manager, generated a wide range of feedback.

"Jerry needs to get his *** out of the way. He's a narcissist," one agent told Ben Standig of The Athletic for an article released Wednesday. "He's also a great businessman. Stay in your lane. He plays GM like a fan."

Others had a more positive outlook on the 78-year-old Los Angeles native.

"Jerry is a very, very interesting person," another agent told Standig. "Respect the way he treats people. He puts winning and players first, do what it takes to win. Believes you win with players, so he takes care of them. That they haven't won a Super Bowl lately, oh well, lots of teams haven't. I have great respect for them."

Nothing fans can do about it, and the apple doesnt fall far from the tree.
The Jones legacy will out live most of us posting on this forum,, that's already guaranteed.

This guy has a valid point about Jerry Jones being a fan as a GM. His talent evaluation isn't well suited to building a winning team but rather suited to his misguided idea of how to best suit his purposes as an owner. The best GMs are far more interested in winning than how to get the best "bang for their buck." He's an outrageously poor judge of talent but would, rather, prefer to gather players to please the local fans and fill his stadium. His foolhardy passion for Johnny Manziel was a prime example of that fact. Fortunately, the committee comprised of those in the staff wisely overruled him.

I have no doubt Jerry Jones has been the main reason the Cowboys have failed to get back to the Super Bowl. Despite my deep frustrations with the guy, he appears to treat his players and personal with decency. That ain't bad for an obvious narcissist.

Jerry has improved and expanded his knowledge of the game, but he would get taken to the wood shed in fantasy football, when you think drafting injured players with premium picks are going to somehow payoff before the contract expires.

A great example of Jerry seeking the most "bang for the buck" as a misguided idea of how to build a franchise. It's been devastating.

Im not Jerrys age, but I catch myself learning simple stuff that I should have already learned years, decades ago.
I guess when we finally quit learning its time to take the dirt nap...lol

Agents have strong personalities, as does Jerry that quote sounds like he had a frustrating negotiation expetience. Is this Dak's agent?

The last point was dead on, there is zero chance Jerry the owner would have tolerated a GM leading to a 25 year drought. It's the one blind spot that Jerry has, he can't see that he (and his son) are a big reason it's been 25 years since winning a title.
