Everyone in the Zone knows Jarwin is a pass catching TE. Blocking is not his strong suit, so why did Moore have him in for that play? Play call was fine, absolutely should have been a TD. Early in the season and I'm sure Jarwin will feel funny during this weeks film session. Don't ever have Jarwin in that situation ever again.
It’s the exact reason you keep Sprinkle and signed him. He is the best blocking TE we have. Why is he active if he’s not out there on that play?

100% that’s a TD if he’s less blocking

The pitch to Zeke. That is a sure TD if JARWIN holds his block. Moore should never use him in that situation again. Zeke gets in there and we have a completely different game. I think that would have been the difference. Jarwin either needs to get better at blocking, or put Dalton on the field in situations like that.

The block is tough because he’s on an island and the defender has all the space in the world to cut under or get outside.

Jarwin needs to do better there but Zeke also needs to be a 15 mill back and make a play.

Can't disagree with Zeke needing to make the play, but really all Jarwin has to do is get his hands on the defender and do anything with him. Any disruption in the defenders path gives Zeke an easy TD. I hate the play call with that personnel because Jarwin isn't paid to block and running on 3rd down there at all isn't the best call if you're not planning to go on 4th.

Kind of looks like Schultz is the better asset on the field as a whole. Jarwin couldn't block a back up safety, and Zeke couldn't beat him.

Neither have been strong at blocking. It doesn’t take much for Schultz to be a better run blocker

This is where we miss Hanna, Swaim, and recently Bell. Now, we have Sprinkle who is a plus blocker but I guess we wanted Jarwin in case of audible/throw off the defense to expect a pass on 3rd and goal.
Having Marty would of been great as he was a plus blocker and plus receiver.
Is Marty still in the NFL ?

Actually hated the play call...and the result. Hard to believe your paying a RB 90 million and he can't get you 3 yards for 6pts.

Jarwin failed big time on the block but most of us knew his blocking was trash.

Definitely cost us 7 and yes wish ZEKE would of cut back inside but his momentum carried him and the rest was history.

I have been talking about it for a couple days actually. But on the play prior, Dak was late on the throw to Zeke and he probably scores on that one too.

The $90mil RB could also make a guy miss in the open field. But that was definitely pitiful by Jarwin.

I am a zeke hater and I dont think many backs score on that play. And Zeke certainly doesnt have the speed for us to realistically think he can take that outside.

This and Lamb dropped a couple passes, PI call, Brown got roasted and the biggest - Zuerlin lost the game.

Lamb was money on that last drive when it counted. Had a couple drops on the first drive. That pick catch was tough and probably shouldnt have been thrown.

I thought the play call was perfect. no one was on that side of the field...only one defender...just one defender.....and if we had the right personnel then its an easy TD...so perhaps to your point, it was the wrong call for the personnel grouping on the field.....change Jarwin and put schultz there and results would be different.

Zeke need to plant his foot, cut and lower his shoulder and drive into the endzone at the numbers. Instead he runs to the sideline. He hasn't been able to get to the edge since his rookie season. Bad decision there.
That contract of #21’s just keeps looking better and better.

The problem with that play was twofold. One asking Jarwin to make the stalk block in space against a smaller more agile player.. The second which I'm surprised no one is talking about is that it was an option pitch and not a toss sweep. The difference between the two being the option pitch comes at you tumbling while the toss is kind of a dead ball floating in the air. The toss allows the runner to kind of keep his focus upfield while he cradles the ball in and is typically caught while moving forward. The option pitch requires concentration because of the action on the ball and it's generally caught while moving sideways. As such it costs the back vision and momentum. I think Zeke with a head of steam bowls right over that defender if it's a toss. It seemed like to me that the option caused him to have to wait on the ball a bit and by the time he gathered it in the defender had the upfield leverage on him because you know.. nobody touched him. It's what defenders are taught to do to good backs.. Get on them before they have time to gain any momentum or make any move. It was a solid play by the kid.. Yes Zeke COULD have broken the tackle, but I just didn't see him having any forward momentum before the defender was on him. What Zeke SHOULD have done was bury his head in that DBs chest and drive him into the end zone. He makes the mistake of trying to press it outside when the guy had already eaten up the angle for him to get there. Then when he realizes he's not going to make it and tries to cut it back in as too late. It was a bad block by Jarwin and a bad read by Zeke. They both gotta be better.

I just don't understand what the dude was thinking. I played WR and I was an awful blocker. I fully admit that. However, with a play like that you don't have to be a good blocker. You can suck as a blocker and still set an edge. Just get in position and get in the defenders way. That's all he had to do. All he had to do is jump to the defenders right. Even if the defender runs you over you did your job. No way he gets to Zeke.
Problem is, we already knew that about Jarwin. I honestly can't comprehend the extreme love he gets here. Schultz is just so obviously better.
