Not sure why you would ever want to “trail” - keep your man in front of you and you can’t get beat deep.

It eliminates the back shoulder throw - in theory. the trail technique is not meant to be trailed by 2 or more yards though. You are slightly behind the WR hip and if the S is over the top, the window to complete a pass is very small to no window. it's a very good way to play a deep ball. Some of the speedier guys use it as a bait to the QB to have him think the WR is open, then they catch up and make a play on the ball, etc.. several reasons to play the technique, it just was not executed very well in this case.

Two words : Malik Hooker. He is knocking that BS down or picking it.

Kind of BS by Quinn. Safety help or not he was in the trail position. If it wasn’t his assignment than Brown would’ve been left open. He just got burnt
Ummmm….trail technique means you “trail behind the wr to jump on digs, Ins, outs, etc.

It's a coverage decision based on the zone you are running. AB had beaten us several times on comeback routes and hitches. Trail technique with a safety overtop takes that route away and alters available throwing lane. In this situation, gambled wrong.

Wouldn't have mattered re: Kazee - there were no good answers. Every WR was open. Bad coverage call on that play.

Did you see Mahomes yesterday? GOAT level stuff.
Yeah did you see him fall down throw the ball up for grabs. His receiver got it and ran for the winning touchdown. Without hill , He’s nothing.Hail Mary . Yeah did you see it Prescott had more of an impressive opening day

lol ..yeh like that was the only big play and yards Anthony Brown gave up ... dude just doesn't have the coverage skills to be a starting CB.
virutally anyone familiar with Brown knows he's more of slot guy, has to have more of a refined area, limited role to have a better chance at success.

Ditto with Jourdan Lewis as well.

And the irony is we foolishly re-signed both average players to extended contracts in back to back years .
(sigh)

Some of our posters just need to be mad at someone. I trust DQ knows what he is talking about.

The "losing" mentality still follows this team.....he was beat by yards, regardless.

Reminds me of the good old days when Mike Zimmer would make excuses for Roy Williams blowing coverages.

I'm no defensive mastermind, but a coverage that allows a WR to blow by a CB expecting help over the top doesn't seem like a good idea to me.

Reminds me of the good old days when Mike Zimmer would make excuses for Roy Williams blowing coverages.

You obviously didn't understand what he said.

The no accountability culture is alive and well in Dallas as usual.

Brown was getting beat like a drum all night.
I agree with Brown getting beat but sounds like Quinn was calling out the safety or player that fell down causing the safety to leave his assignment.

I haven't looked at that play to see if what he is saying is true. All i can remember is Brown not even close to making a play
