All this hype about his size & speed and he couldn’t stay with Gronk around 5 yard radius. If he doesn’t get better in coverage soon then he will be considered a bust pick.

It's not only Parsons. It was ANYBODY in charge of guarding Gronkowski.

Look at the tape a few times. What do you see? Why is it that Gronk is open enough to catch passes? It's because everyone who was in charge of following and guarding him was busy looking towards Tom Brady while Gronk was either running by them or positioning himself with enough space to catch the pass headed towards him. Very easy.

I've seen this problem year after year how the Cowboys defenders get burned most of the time because they are too busy looking into the backfield at the QB, instead of sticking to their receiver like glue and staying fixated on the receiver. You don't need to be looking back at the QB! The receiver will show you if the football is coming by turning back towards the QB and reaching their hands out. That's when a defender should turn slightly to look for the ball while covering the receiver step by step...or knock the ball away from the receiver trying to catch it. Very simple.

Oh, another thing, no one ever jammed Gronk (or any other WRs) HARD at the line of scrimmage to throw his and Brady's timing off!

What are these guys being coached???

Whooa, whooa, whooaa. Gronk schools everyone. Especially an ear's wet rook.

He is going to make a lot of mistakes. It’s his rookie year. You may see him switched or replaced at some point during games.

I'm not one to call coaches out but for the life of me, I keep wondering why they weren't double-teaming him. Hell, the whole know he's Brady money player........

When I saw this thread I knew it would turn into a bunch of excuses for Parsons. He didn't have as good a debut as many wanted him to have. Maybe this game as a rookie is just too big for him. He'll get better. But in his defense, covering Gronk has always been a tall task.
