The ball was too low. We do need that Dez type red zone threat having said that. Lamb is probably our best highball player

The ball was higher than what Jarwin reached on his jump.. Therefore it could not have been too low. The DB got higher so he got hands on the ball. Jarwin clearly didn't get up to 34.5 inches on that one. It is what it is.. Making that play is an art.. Not a lot of guys have that skill. Jarwin doesn't.

I’m watching the replay right now. I looked at it four times. The tight end jumped too early. He’s on his way down before the ball gets there. When the ball shows up his foot is actually on the ground. And the other defender is just reaching his peak. Should’ve been an interception

So Muggsy Bogues was all of 5' 3" yet he could dunk (net height 10') so not sure the point as some guys have better leaping ability than others.
Fun fact. Bogues never dunked in a game. Spud Webb could jump out the gym at 5’7

How can you say this? If Jarwin times his jump properly and attacks the ball it's a touchdown. It was a jumpball.. I expect the 6'5" 6'6" guy to win against the 6 footer.. But that's just me. I do think it's the sort of play that earns Jarwin some mistrust from Dak. I don't expect to see Dak trust him in a tight situation again for a good while.

I’m saying it, because I’m watching it. He jumped to early. He’s on the ground the bulls not there yet. It’s about a foot and a half away from him. I’m looking at it on TV I recorded the game

Yeah but he didn’t time it perfectly that’s my point. He jumped too early. That’s all the defendant was able to get in front of him because He was in the air The defender has both hands on the ball

Jarwin needs to be on the bench so Schultz can play. They have one TE who can catch and one who can catch and block. The math seems easy. And Jarwin misses that key block last week that probably cost us a touchdown and now gets out jumped by a shorter DB and probably cost us another touchdown. I guess they gave Jarwin too much money to let him sit.

I agree I dont think we have a "Gronk Type" redzone threat on this roster.

No we don't. Coop and CeeDee are better in the open field for different reasons. We don't have a dominant TE. I think our running backs are the best red zone threat we have and that's who we used yesterday to erase week one's failures.

I am asking how you say it should have been an interception when all Jarwin has to do it properly attack the ball (like every receiver is taught from the time they start playing Pee Wee football) and it's a TD. He jumped too soon and floated away from the ball which is the only reason the DB had a shot at it. I don't think there was anything wrong with the throw. Frankly going frame by frame I don't even know how Jarwin is able to do what he did because he jumps sideways going to his right but somehow ends up falling away from the ball. He defied physics there!

you're discussing an arbitrary height he could reach. another player in the league @ 6'5 should be able to reach higher than him despite his unique leaping ability as a midget

I guess basically what I'm saying is Jarwin has to fight to get that inside position and not just let a guy 6 inches shorter and 50 pounds lighter body him out. Like I said, it's an art. If that's Witten that DB gets hip checked out of the picture and it's an easy TD.

Here's what actually happened with video. It looked like it was a corner route and the DB jumped it to beat Jarwin to the corner so all Dak could do (wisely) to have a chance was to throw the ball behind Jarwin where the DB wasn't. Because of this, Jarwin's timing of the jump was off which is why you see him coming down as the ball arrives. The corner was athletic enough to leap back the opposite way as well and got his hands on the ball. Luckily, the misdirection didn't allow him to get a good hold of the ball. So even if Dak threw the ball higher, it simply would have gone out the end zone.

Some of the red zone issues still showed up again yesterday but one of the reasons I keep citing leaped out at us on the throw into the end zone in the third quarter. Dak lobbed one up really high and it's Jarwin against a DB who he has 6 inches in height and a foot in reach on and the DB wins the jump ball. Good lord. If that's Dez it's a "Git off me" touchdown. The Cowboys desperately need a legit red zone receiver to emerge if they're going to get were they wanna go. You're not always going to be able to finesse your way open in that compressed area if the defense drops 8.
Jarwin is coming off major injury to his legs.
His lack of explosiveness isn't really that odd.
The bigger issue is he can't block and never really could.
Dalton is TE1.

We're so lucky that wasn't picked off. That was a bad decision.
