What are you expecting a first-rounder?

I'm expecting someone whose "strength is rushing the passer" to have more than 9 sacks in 5 years. Especially when 4 of those years are in Oklahoma playing a lot of overmatched teams.

You don't even know what you're talking about but it sure sounds nice.
You have no idea what you’re talking about. Numerous scouting reports of people who actually saw him play credit his ability to get pressure but it doesn’t shock me being you can’t read and cheer for Wentz who last year was the worst starting qb in the NFL. Then there’s your takes on Dinucci….so yeah……

It's primarily a potential thing because of his speed and power combo. The reason he struggles against the run is technique issues. Odig plays with really good technique while Gallimore is more natural skills. Big, strong guy with speed, but he can get rooted out because he comes up high out of his stance and needs to use his hands better.

We saw some of his potential to get into the backfield last year. Hopefully, he's improved even more on his technique. I still don't trust him to stay low and play with leverage against double-teams on run downs, but he's got the skills to be disruptive against the pass.

Tell this Sooners and Cowboys fan more about actually seeing him play, genius.

I saw him play. I saw him get 9 sacks in 5 years and it doesn't matter what scouting report you want me to think you read (you didn't) has to say about it.

Im really excited to see these two on the field together on passing downs

Alot of gap versatility with these two. Gallimore has his weaknesses, but he is incredibly strong and has amazing linier burst. His change of direction isnt great, but he has the power and burst to rush from either a 3T or 1T. Odighizuwa can line up all over the interior from a 1T to a 3T to 4i. I even saw a breakdown (@xwalker ?) that had him at a 5T.
does Gallimore get his starting job back if D1[Bohanna when Bohanna is in the mix
The interior pass rush could be interesting this season

question I was pointing to who is the D3 starter when Gallimore returns
sorry for my circuitous wording
Don't know. My guess you will probably see Gallimore and Odighizuwa playing about 50-60% each. So most likely them unless we open up a game in run defense

I could see Gallimore adding 10-15lbs and playing the 1 tech at some point.

I thought based on what they were known for in college that Odig would be a better run defender than Gallimore, and I don't see any evidence that I'm not right. I think when Gallimore returns, we'll continue to see Odig, Watkins and Urban as the primary run defenders with Gallimore playing primarily on passing downs. Really like what we've seen so far from Osa as a third-round rookie.
One positive is that they are both pretty experienced running stunts and Quinn historically uses stunts almost the most in the NFL, and more than Marinelli.

I'm curious how you evaluated him out of college. How do you even go about evaluating him given how the Sooners played with their D-line?

Anyways... does anyone know when Gallimore is expected to be back? Any word on Hill?

Odigizuwa is playing VERY well. Im sure the coaching staff is happy with his play. And yes, seeing him next to Gallimore is going to be VERY INTERESTING indeed.

When's the last time the Cowboys had this level of talent on the interior line?

Like Aaron Lewis once sang...its been awhile.

If you can get excited about this group of DTs have at it. I'm in awe of your fandom.

Hey now, having defensive tackles that don't immediately retreat 7 yards downfield after the snap is a massive upgrade. At some point in the distant future, the Cowboys might have linebackers that actually play their gap assignments too. When that happens . . . watch out NFL!!!

Hmmmmm….trust Risen the poor talent evaluator or trust the scouts who actually have seen him play…damn that’s tough…..

You can trust Risen to do basic math. 9 sacks in 5 years. Extensive playing time (I actually watched his college career, you didn't).

You cling to those pretend scouting reports you didn't read. I'll look at the actual production on the field.
