Do we need to make a deal?

Good trades in the NFL are much more difficult to do unless you plan to give up too much. Since the cap was instituted, trades in the NFL have become more rare and certainly more costly.

I see many fans throwing trade ideas out that won’t work for one of several reasons:
  • We as fans tend to way overvalue our talent and how other teams would value it.
  • Other teams are not very interested in parting ways with a player of value- Especially a pass rushing DE, which is one of the hardest positions to find talent in the NFL.
  • The cost of a proposed trade for a player of REAL value is very high. Like premium draft picks as in 1st or 2nd round picks.

Do you even play Madden, bro? Those big trades go through all the time. :muttley:

If the Jets lose another game which I think they’re going to this week I will look at getting Lawson DE.

Not gonna happen, but the GM should explore a trade for CB Stephen Gilmore from the Patriots. He is on IR, and not happy in NE and may be worth a 3rd that could move into a conditional 2nd. Having Gilmore and Diggs in the backfield would help the pass rush......again its a dream scenario
Agreed. Although he’s getting up there in age he’s still a top cb in the league and we can sign him to a 1 year deal (I don’t know what his current contract is like)

CB upgrade is a huge need over DE IMO.

Why is that? CBs have been decent. Brown expected help against Antonio Brown on the TD. The safety went elsewhere due to Lewis tripping.

Even if CB were a need, not getting any decent CB without massively overpaying in a trade.

Are you serious? Diggs is the only decent one they have. And I'm not advocating for a trade and just stating that CB is their biggest need right now IMO.

Meanwhile after the Chargers game in San Diego....

Not surprising. I witnessed a bunch of idiots talking major smack in the parking lot after the game. I'd be surprised if they eventually weren't involved in some type of altercation.

Too early to make trades, even if they could do one.
I think so too. Have to give it a few weeks for teams to get the bigger picture. If they realize their season is going nowhere (i.e. Jets) then they might be more willing to move some pieces to help bolster their future.

What is he on IR for. As he is an older player, this may be a bad trade. Will he continue to get injured from this point forward.
I would not give up that high of draft capital for him, especially on IR.

Am I right in

Tank back T - Giving Day

Gallup back week 8

Wilson back week 6

Collins back week 6

We beat SD but we had guys outta position- role players becoming real players.

Id look to deal for a DE
With every team in the league trying to win games still, who is trading a quality DE, unless it's a massive overpay?

They have plenty of defensive ends.

Think he is 30yrs old...frustrated and wants a new contract which NE doesn't want to give him. A 2nd or 3rd would be worth a look IMO. Besides drafting Diggs....Cowboys dont have a good history of finding quality starters with round 2 picks. Throw NE a bone and 3rd pick and see what they say.

Report: Gilmore (quadriceps) will be placed on the reserve/PUP list, ruling him out for the first six games of the regular season.
