Saving Zeke for the home stretch is the right play

With our final games of the season coming against WFT, NYG, WFT, Cards, and Eagles, our fate will most likely be decided in this stretch. Zeke has been ridden hard since college and his best days are likely behind him. We are going to need all hands on deck at the end of the season, so it makes sense to lighten his workload and keep some tread on the tires.

The contract extension was obviously a huge mistake, but this is the best course of action going forward.

Let’s just hope we’re still in it down the stretch when we plan on utilizing him more .

But interesting strategy saving talent until the end of the season. Has Jethro admitted his brilliance in this scheme yet? Lol

The Cowboys tried the same thing with Emmitt back in 1996-1997 and it kind of blew up in their faces. Hopefully this time goes better..

this reminds me of when eminem fans believed he was putting out bad albums as a prank to rile up the critics before dropping his classic

Run him into the ground....it's going to be his last year. Get your money worth...now. If he doesn't get 400 plus carries...that's just dumb on our part thinking he's a 10 year RB. The guy has taken a pounding already...he's not going to last much longer anyway....or get better.

I don't think it is saving per se.

I think designing a good run game using individual skill sets against opponents weakness is the key.

If not futilely pounding Zeke up the middle against tampa is "saving for later"...,okay!

So if they keep him fresh for these games. We win the division and make it to at least the NFCCG. And he plays well. Was it a wasted contract?

This won't be his last year. We are stuck with him next year, as well. We start to get cap relief from cutting him in 2023.

It absolutely makes no sense to save a young and healthy talent until the end of season. Most ridiculous thread I’ve seen today . I was trying to be nice. Lol

Considering he had 2 years left on his contract when he started holding out, yes, it is still a mistake. You can't allocate that many resources to a part time player, but we are stuck with him, so it is time to maximize.

Funny how people have forgotten about Marion Barber.
Zeke and Barber are so completely different I wonder if you watch the games, or if you just stare into Kellen Moores eyes on pause. You also said that Moore was going to beat out Romo for the starting job in Dallas. Stop with your takes. They dont make sense anymore.

So what will you say when Zeke proves you wrong. Just as Dak's shoulder and his being rusty did? :muttley:
I hope he proves me wrong like Dak did.

I have more faith in Dak proving me wrong than Zeke though. Because I think Zeke is going to see less carries with the way Pollard is making plays.
