Do we really have any room for more TE’s? He’s not going to supplant Shultz or Jarwin.

With all due respect to him...how did he get cut over a veteran like Mercedes Lewis who offers nothing at this point in his career?
Rodgers loves Lewis. He praised him as the unsung locker room leader like 4 times last year on the Pat McAfee show.

A drug addled third rounder with several injuries? How much do we have to overpay to grab THAT? Shultz and Jarwin aren’t enough?

He was a highly regarded TE prospect coming out that year- higher than either Jarwin and Schultz in their respective
draft class years.
And What's wrong with a low risk, high reward attempt ?

If you bring him in, you then have to keep McKeon on IR all season.

Nothing, we just have more pressing needs.

Rodgers also called him the best blocking TE he's ever played with in his career. I'd say that holds some weight.

Drug suspension was a DUI

Sternberger released a statement via Twitter concerning this development:

"In February, 2020 I made a horrible decision. While on Anti-Depressants, I decided to drink which led me to falling asleep behind the wheel. My coaches and teammates were the first people to know. I want to apologize to the GB Packers organization and everyone else who has supported me along this journey. It is never okay to drink and get behind the wheel. Over the past 16 months, I've been going to therapy and continuously working to be a better person. I will never ignore my mistakes, I have owned up to my poor decision and accept the consequences."

Packers' Jace Sternberger suspended two games for violating NFL substance abuse policy, per report - CBSSports.com

Rodgers wants his guys and rightfully so. But man, Rodgers, Cobb and Lewis aren’t spring chickens

Lewis has made one hell of a career as his career high in a season is 700 yards

Why waste time with a loser with multiple red flags?! Thanks but no thanks! He'd just add another problem to deal with! :omg:
