I'm not convinced yet that McCarthy is the guy that can take us to the promised land, BUT I'll tell you one thing I appreciate. They set Terence Steele up for success. That dude was ready, and they gave him some help from time to time. You guys remember that Falcons game a couple of years ago? The worst game I can remember. They had some rookie out there, or free agent (I can't remember who it was) and Garrett and company just left him out there to fight for his life, and the Falcons had like 25 sacks that night. It was truly a nightmare. Steele's performance tells me McCarthy is a step up.

Low low bar but yes, he is better if only a little bit.

As much as I’m disappointed in the ST hire Fassel I think Joe Philbin is solid as OL coach . Dak has time to go through progressions and the run game is working when you have healthy men up front . Philbin was also a HC briefly in the Bermuda Triangle of Coaches in Dolphin land. This ain’t his first rodeo.

im not McCarthys biggest fan but hes better than Garrett because he adjust and if the adjustment does not work then so be it and Garrent isnt known for adjustments

But just knowing the flow of the game and how to handle momentum is something we missed under Garrett

My perception of it (and I could be way off) is:

Garrett = This is what we do, the plan doesn't change
McCarthy = Whatever you think is best

The freedom McCarthy gives his co-ordinator seems to allow them to get more creative/aggressive. It seems like that's great for Moore and Quinn, I'm not sure Bones is excelling with that level of freedom. He's a guy with energy and creativity but it seems like he's trying to do too much. Pollard needs to reign in those KR's, and Fassell needs to put them into smarter plays.

I think Garrett was straight garbage. A total fraud and failure here. Big Mike is only slightly better right now. I will say the team seems to begin games better under Mike. They always came out flat under Garrett. Big Mike really lost me though this week. Playing for a 56 yarder was one of the dumbest things I have ever seen a coach do.

They could’ve switch to someone worse than Garrett and I would’ve been happy.

He did nothing to earn a decade as our HC.

Then you must have loved the 60 yard try against TB that set Tommy up at midfield for a pre half Hail Mary
