NFL owners like to recycleBingo! ONE great season as DC after getting fired as HC will get him another HC job.........not yet. I mean he will likely get another shot, especially if this D continues to improve, but not after only a year........See Todd Bowes. In other words, I'm pretty confident he's back for 2022
NFL owners like to recycle
We’ve got some new blood the last few years but still a lot of recycled coaches like McCarthy
He will get another shot most likely but I don’t think it will be next year
I think other teams seen this team has had the talent for a long time
What he and the staff have done is add some talent on D which may have had nothing to do with them
And they’ve improved the culture which I think he has been a big part of
He’s a really good DC
I don’t see a really good HC in him
I think he’s a huge part of a culture change hereother NFL teams may see it differently.
they may see he has skin on the wall, ability to "improve the culture " as you term it.
and they could see it as a coach that can scheme and place players in a position to exceed.
You cannot have success on just talent alone. it has to be directed, has to be coached up
and there has to be a motivating trust.
I think he’s a huge part of a culture change here
And teams will see that too
I just don’t think one year removed from a lack luster HC job is gonna get him another one
But we will see
More and more teams are looking outside of the same guys over and over, plus some teams want an offensive minded coach
I think that and the number of HC still really new in their contracts keeps him from getting a job next year as HC
I think he will get offers just not next yearOne year success from a HC ( who again does have credential skins on the wall resume and is charismatic at that) is enuff to put him right back there in the HC hunt with other NFL teams, imo.
Just as some teams will want offensive minds, some are gonna want a defensive mind too.
ala Ron Rivera ..Sean McDermott, ... Brian Flores .. Brandon Staley.. Vic Fangio ..Mike Vrabel. etc.
It's about the interviews that sells a leader of men, charismatic, one that they think will bring a culture as well as a plan
What we Cowboys have to do is prepare to successfully replace him should he depart.
And it does make a huge difference, else replacement could be Mike Nolan 2.0
I think he will get offers just not next year
I think Moore is more likely to get offers than Quinn this off season
But we will see
As HC I don’t knowwe can't keep both as HC.
If both get HC offers,.. and you decide to make one of them Cowboys HC ?
Which one would you choose ?
$ and $$ and then there's $$$. Belichick wasn't a great HC in CLE. The NFL recycles coaches. Why would we lose him
He wasn’t a great HC and why would he not stay here to be a DC
I think the purpose of this thread is that you cannot keep it intact and if this keeps going, both could be HC's elsewhere. I started another thread on this topic about keeping Quinn and even firing McC if it means keeping Quinn. As HC I don’t know
Moore has really grown as an OC and has really became very creative
Quinn I think probably demands more respect from the players which to me is very important
If I had to pick one as HC it would probably be Quinn but I hope we don’t have to pick one
As much as I hate some things about MM I like the idea of the two coordinators both being here
We played a really good gamePeople need to relax on the phrase of the month "horrible clock management."
We just destroyed a division team by 3 scores and had over 10 minutes more TOP.
I understand all of that football 101 you're explaining. But you cannot lack clock management skills and win games or be a good HC.We played a really good game
But there are things the team need to look at and get better at. That’s how you keep getting better
Same with the HC
He lacks good clock management skills and he has his whole career as a HC
That doesn’t mean he can’t be a good HC but it would be wise of him to get input from his staff on clock management
Chicago? That would be interestingI think Kellen goes to Chicago next year. Would be interesting if Andy sticks around to help the team transition. They were college rivals so don’t know if he wants to help Kellen out.
