How about hiring Urban Meyer. I'm no fan of McCarthy but Urban Meyer looks to be an absolute disaster. What a mess he's created for the Jaguars organization

Another great one! And I’ll confess to wanting Meyer to be this team’s head coach last year. Boy was I wrong!

After watching how improved the Cowboys are this season I don’t think we should over pay for any of our free agents next offseason. Offer fair team friendly contracts to Gregory, Gallup, LVE, Hooker, Shultz, Kazee and Kearse but don’t put the cap in jeopardy.

I agree. It now looks like we have a staff in place that can actually coach up players. So we don’t need superstars at every position in order to be competitive.

Comparing Adams to Parsons is *slander* against Parsons.

Adams plays one position...and he's not playing it well.

Here's some links for you:
Jamal Adams is the worst trade of the Pete Carroll era

NFL foes target Seahawks Jamal Adams in coverage for big plays

Jamal Adams was not ready for primetime

A year into his Seahawks tenure, Jamal Adams remains a riddle for Seattle coaches
https://www.seattletimes.com/sports...l-adams-remains-a-riddle-for-seattle-coaches/
According to Pro Football Focus (h/t to Rotoworld), Adams lined up as a linebacker for 390 snaps in 2020. According to Pro Football Reference's data, that was nearly half the snaps he played (784). That 50 percent mark stands to be important in Adams trying to say he's a linebacker.

What are you even talking about lol? Is it a bad trade? Of course. Never denied that. But now you are trying to pretend like he's something he isn't. He sucks in coverage.

I remember when a lot of fans were campaigning for the Cowboys to trade for Jamal Adams. The Seahawks ultimately did, giving up two 1st round picks-plus for him. They've since had to make him the league's highest-paid safety, and both he and their entire defense are now a mess.

Sometimes, it's as much about what you don't do as what you do.
Well said indeed Sir :bow::bow::bow::welcome:
I can rem Dallas many years ago trading for a WR and gave up 2 first Round picks---and it was a very bad deal.
Trading 1st round picks is risky business.

+1 and just read a tweet where one league personnel said there's a million percent chance of Wilson asking for a trade after the season.

His injury plus how awful the Seahawks are, I don't see any reason why he would want to stay. They are going to fall apart.

That Adams trade plus the money they are paying him is absolutely terrible.

You make one of the points I have seen about the Joneses last 25 years. The coaches have been the real problems. The Cowboys draft well for the most part. If you have a problem with Jerrah is that he has to feel comfortable when he is in the room with his coaches. Kraft is not comfortable at all with Belichick.

Anyone who would trade two 1’s for a safety needs to have their head examined. The fact that there were people even considering it here just boggles my mind.

The NFL is a results business. And feeling comfortable seldom incentives someone to achieve their maximum results.

I may be in minority but if the paper boy gets a head coaching job elsewhere next season, the Cowboys will be ok.

I wouldn't have given two firsts for Earl Thomas in his prime.

I wanted him, but never for that cost. When how much Seattle paid for him was made known, I was glad we weren't willing to do that.

Jamal Adams nickname. Had Jerruh traded for him, the compensation was 2 firsts which turned out to be Cee Dee and Micah.

We dodged a bullet.
I don't follow the Jets so I guess I wouldn't know.
And I agree with you on Cee Dee and Micah > Jamal Adams.
Thanks for the explanation.

I would consider 2 1sts for Darren Woodson in his prime. That man was a key cog of some of our championship defenses.
Not sure I'd give two 1sts for any non-QB. Man, you'd really have to have a stacked team and truly be one player away.

Right. I like what Kellen is doing with the offense, but McCarthy has not exactly been chopped liver as a coordinator in his career. Plus, we don't really know how much of McCarthy's influence is in the offense.

New Orleans Saints[edit]
In 2000, McCarthy was hired as the offensive coordinator for the New Orleans Saints .[21] That year, the Saints won their first playoff game in the franchise's history and finished 10th overall in offense.[22] During the regular season, the Saints held a 10–6 record.[23] McCarthy was selected as National Football Conference (NFC) Assistant Coach of the Year by USA Today in 2000.[22] In 2002, the Saints led the NFC in scoring, with 49 touchdowns and 432 points. In 2003, the Saints scored 340 points—their eighth highest-scoring season ever. All of McCarthy’s four years with the Saints rank in the team’s top 10 years for offense.[18] While McCarthy was with the team, the Saints’ offense set 25 individual and 10 team records. Joe Horn caught 45 touchdowns and 437 passes for 6,289 yards.[18] During McCarthy’s time with the team, running backs Ricky Williams and Deuce McCallister both had a 1,000-yard season.[18] In his first two years, running back Ricky Williams would run for 2,245 yards with 14 touchdowns.[24] McCarthy stayed with the team for five seasons through 2004.[22]

The 2011 Packers team was a record-setting one, leading the NFL in points scored and setting a franchise record for wins. McCarthy’s offensive strategies facilitated quarterback Aaron Rodger’s NFL MVP season. Rodgers threw for 4,643 yards and 45 touchdowns, throwing most often to receiver Jordy Nelson.[54][55]

In 2012, McCarthy’s coaching saw the Packers with an 11–5 record that ranked them first in the NFC North Division. McCarthy’s offensive strategies enabled 433 points, with Aaron Rodgers passing for 4,295 yards.[56] The team winning the second consecutive NFC North in 2012 marked the first time the Packers had won two consecutive NFC titles since the three consecutive titles during the 2002–2004 seasons.

In 2014 McCarthy guided the Packers to their fourth consecutive NFC North title with a 12–4 record during the regular season. The team ranked sixth in the NFL in total offense, with an average of 386 yards per game, and first in points scored, with an average of 30.4 points per game. In receiving yards, Jordy Nelson led the team with 1,519 yards. Aaron Rodgers threw for 4,381 yards and Edie Lacy recorded 1,139 rushing yards.[60][61]

The wheels started to come off in Green Bay in 2015 when he was criticized for going to conservative in the NFC Championship Game against Seattle, and he gave up his play-calling duties entering the next season. He took them back later that year ... and in 2016, his team made it back to the NFC Championship Game.

I know some want to give credit to anyone but McCarthy (Rodgers, Moore), but his track record as an offensive coach is pretty good. His only real struggles followed Rodgers getting injured in 2017 and then again in 2018.
