Hill’s days on the roster are dwindling. He’s a year + removed from surgery now and is he even practicing with the team yet? We’ve essentially heard nothing. Not to mention he’s, at best, the 3rd best player at his position on the roster now behind Osa and Gallimore. And that’s not bringing Watkins and Urban into the discussion…

Gholston doesn’t need to be active right now on a team trying to win a super bowl

Hill cannot practice until after game 6. He is on PUP. He can practice now.

Golston earned playing time. He is getting better every week. Who would want to stop progress like that?

Me too,....remember him well at Illinois. Not a TRUE killer,..more like an accomplice. But you need them too. He is someone that can thrive if he has a couple others around him that can get after the passer.

Someone who wants to win a super bowl. Golston will be lucky if he is ever as much of a factor as a pass rusher as Mercilus is now. He’s a younger Dorance Armstrong. Which don’t get me wrong, I’m not complaining about getting a functional rotation player in the mid rounds…but he just has about 0 impact traits. Mercilus can still make an impact as a pass rusher 20 or so snaps a game

No 2022 guaranteed salary. So, the Texans are just paying him not to play. He gets all of his 2021 money this year as a vested veteran. The Texans save no money.

Still, additional help rushing the passer could be very helpful for us, and Mercilus is merciless with QBs.

I'd keep Hill on IR. There's a lot of players I'd cut for him - Anae, Kamara, Hamilton, Sprinkle, the new fullback. I'm all in on this year, there's no guarantee we continue on this trajectory in the upcoming seasons.

Right. Like every single player on the roster is uncuttable. There’s probably a dozen players you can cut for extra pass rush help.

Conditioning isnt his problem, he got down to 330 pre draft so he is in excellent shape. He is just a mediocre player
