Good post, the narrative is that he is a dodgy kicker. Statistics suggest he is solid.
its dodgey because the fans saying he is,

are these types,

Yes, big props for missing that FG late that very likely could have cost us the game.

Pfffft.

Zuerlien makes me nervous as heck when he kicks but his miss saved us on that kick. He hits that kick perfect and it gets blocked. The right side of our OLine was destroyed on that play and I believe Zuerlein missed the kick trying to avoid the blocked FG. Romo and Nance even discussed this after the kick. A FG Kicker can't be expected to kick the ball through defenders.

Interesting timing for this. I like Zuerlein more than most and am glad he made that game tying kick, but didn't he just miss a huge kick this week that almost cost us the game?

There was speculation that he pulled it in order to prevent it from being blocked. I would love to know if there has been any confirmation of that. If he did, that deserves some kudos.

Apart from his week 1 horror show, he’s been clutch ever since.
Hit a long game winning kick in Los Angeles and nailed a long one to take the game to overtime in New England … the only field goal he’s missed since week 1 was a 50+ yarder, so hopefully we have again a reliable kicker.

According to the numbers he is ranked 19th in the NFL this year in FG percentage and 23rd in extra point percentage.

So, I dunno where you're getting top 5.

I get your point. He makes me nervous every time he kicks the ball. However, his FG % is tied for #11 when you take out the ridiculous 60 yard attempt that we made him try. Also, some of the ones ahead of him have only attempted 3, 6, 7, 7, and 9 kicks. Really hard to say those guys are having a better year when they haven't really attempted many FGs.

I'm surprised the shorter ones are so high last year, because it feels like ever since they put back the point after attempts, that kickers in general have struggled more on shorter field goals.
Maybe it’s the amount of PAA being missed made me think that.
Yeah, Xtra Pts:
From 2003 - 2014 ~ 99%
From 2015 - current ~93%

and yet he ranked like top 5 in the league. im also can be nervous of Dak fumbling in the end zone and throwing's INTS but its part of the game..Daks excuse here is no ones perfect umm that means the kicker and coaches as well..

when one of our players play perfect game let me know how about prefect season..:rolleyes:
Oye, coaches, too?

For some reason I have very little confidence in him.

I get queasy when he is kicking one from inside the 40....seems like those are the ones he may hook. The long ones he seems to focus more on kicking it straight.

Yeah. Thanks for missing that makable FG. He is not doing terrible. But is missing EP and FGs. But is hitting them when the pressure is on. That 49 yarder for OT was about to push right. I thought he missed it for a second. Waited to see the refs signal good.

If he hits that kick to make it, it gets blocked. Greatly effected by the rush
Maybe it does maybe it doesn't. Tough to say. But he didn't appear to adjust his kick due to the rush. I'm not even sure he really saw the guy coming in from that side enough to think it was an issue until he was kicking the ball.

Plus he has missed 3 FGs and 2 XPs already. That's nothing to be proud of. Did anyone actually feel like he was 100% making that kick to put us into OT?

one FG was 60yard attempt and doesn't count like a Hail marry for a qb the int or incompletions really not something you count..

hes a top 5 kicker and that something to be just fine with,..

hes 12-14 in kicks without the 60+ yarder in there.. rights thats down right embarrassing LMAO what clueless fan expecting perfection from a player..is that 90% i mean wow he sux hard

does dak never throw an INT or fumble no incompletions?

does OL not miss blocks or get penalties

do receivers catch everything?

do all Defenders make every tackle and big stop?

BUT HE DID and won the chargers game and made all the big kicks in the big moments been the one at the end of the TB game to take the lead..

so no player coach or fan think a Kicker is making all the kicks..

Baily choked in the 2014 GB playoff game missed TWO fgs when he was money most of the season..chat happens move on

He hasn’t been reliable but he’s made a couple of kicks that he absolutely had to make. Eventually one of his misses is going to cost us a game and the Zuerlein hate threads will have to be merged.

I have never kicked a FG in a game of football but I don't know how you could not see/feel/sense that guy being so close off the edge.
