The Parcells that was in Dallas had turned the team into winners, even if the talent was not that good. The team played tough, hard-nosed football for Parcells. After Jerry signed TO, Bill started losing interest and was looking to leave. The writing was on the wall and he decided that he didn’t need the headache.
Lol! He lost all of my respect when he let Antonio Bryant throw a towel in he face, with no repercussions.......that was disappointing

If you want to praise coordinators Moore & Quinn for the Cowboys’ 5-1 start, don’t forget about coach MM.

Again, every coach on this squad has credibility.
Jerry had asked for Moore to stay. Considering that MM’s offense was outdated and stale in Green Bay, he was happy to go along with Jerry by keeping a young OC that was a rising star. If MM gets credit for Quinn, he should take all the credit for the Nolan fiasco. Why you are at it, MM had brought in Fassel which has been unimpressive to say the least. MM is the in-game coach that can’t manage the clock and makes some very Garrett-like screwups. Without Moore and Quinn, he would be looking for a job by now. You can look at his record at Green Bay over the last season or two that he coached there and see how bad he really is. I was shocked when I saw his record there.

How is one coach "better" than another? Well, this is sports so the answer is easy. They win more games and championships than other coaches.

We can't compare McCarthy to other Cowboy Head Coaches, that wouldn't be fair. McCarthy has been a Cowboy HC for a year. Now, if you just want to compare first years then Barry Switzer is the best HC in Cowboys history, Tom Landry is the worse.

Obviously proper context has to be established and the conditions have to be examined. Some HC's inherit a rebuilding project, other come into a ready made contender.

Some think the HC should be the hardest working guy in the whole franchise. However, being a HC involves a great deal of management and that includes who you hire to be your assistants. management is getting things done through others.

Jim Lee Howell was the Giants HC when they won the NFL championship in 1956. He wasn't known as the hardest working coach in the business.......Would you be if your offensive coordinator was Vince Lombardi and your defensive coordinator was Tom Landry?

Howell was a HC with an abundance of, shall we say, "discretionary" time?

Maybe McCarthy isn't the best field general but the guy knows how to utilize his coaching assets.

MM is the best HC we've had since JJ and that's including Parcels that was just collecting a paycheck......I don't get the hate! All coaches make bad calls from time to time. But he has our team ready to play every week. I appreciate MM and think he is doing a great job.
I'm with you, brother. Even BB makes mistakes. If MM would delegate clock management, or at least get someone to advise him in those situations, I'd have very little to complain about. He's aggressive, which is a welcome change. Sometimes it doesn't work, but if anyone can tell me what coach can always be aggressive at the right times, I'm listening...Anyone?

They released Moore and he was headed to UWA and McC asked him to come back. There were no coaches still on the team when they hired McC.

That is not to say there weren't conversations between Booger and Moore about what the new HC might want to do. I do think that is why Moore had not taken the job at UWA because the offer was on the table.

Whether rehiring Moore was conditional or McC just picked up on that as a way to make the deal is unknown. There was a lot that went on in that 12 hour interview between two men who didn't know each other.

There is no way that you can hate Garrett and like MM. MM is even worse on time management than Garrett. Without Moore and Quinn , MM would be unemployed. I have to agree with the dozens of sports writers that thinks MM hurts the chances of making the Super Bowl more than he helps. MM was not close to being better than Parcells.
So let me guess, garrett held back Kellen, but Mike encourages him right? Who gets credit here? You guessed it, big mike ..

I like our Coach. He is a Marty Schottenheimer lineage... always in the playoffs and never won the big one. Big Mike won the big one with Rogers, I believe he can with Dak also.

Try again. Kellen is Jerry’s boy. Mike gets credit for eating a dozen jelly doughnuts. That is about the extent of Mike’s input. If you really want to know the truth about MM all the way back to his Green Bay games, take some time and look at his failures that caused him to get fired and look at how his team continued with his coaching in Dallas. I am dead serious when I say that I had no ideal how bed MM has been as a head coach. I saw the stats this weekend and I didn’t think my opinion could get much lower for MM. it got much lower. More and Quinn is the only reason he has a job.

MM does absolutely nothing on game days. Quit taking credit from his assistants that are saving his ***....and applying it to him.
