Cowboys QB Dak Prescott expected to be ready for Week 8 primetime clash against Vikings
Published: Oct 24, 2021 at 06:59 AM

One week after Dak Prescott suffered a calf injury on the final play of a thrilling overtime win against the New England Patriots, the Dallas Cowboys remain optimistic their star quarterback will be ready to make his next start next Sunday night at Minnesota -- though they are proceeding carefully.

Sources say Prescott is not expected to participate in a light practice Monday when the team returns from its bye. The soonest he would practice is Wednesday, and the team will monitor him closely to make sure he's moving like himself and not putting himself at risk of a relatively minor issue turning into something more.

It's the same long-term thinking the Cowboys used back in training camp, when Prescott missed substantial time because of a muscle strain in his throwing shoulder. The plan all along was to ramp him up gradually, and Prescott was ready for the opener.

Was the result of his MRI made public? I don’t recall reading it…
Great news that he’s expected to play, about time this team has a bit of luck with injuries.

He said he could have continued to play against the Pats if that game didn't end on that play. So there's nothing wrong with Dak and he'll be eager to prove it. I say...

Dak to CD for three TD's in this game. And Zeke gets 186 total yards.

Cowboys Win Big. 46- 10.

Dak to Diggs? Are we finally realizing Trevon's dream of playing WR for us?

so he can play but at what level , what cost to his mechanics and mobility? how long before he repulls it in the game and makes it worse and cant return and we have RUSH to come in and finish the game..if we had better backup im letting dak sit this game out..

we dont..i dont want this to linger all year when real important games come up..we need him for the stretch run not the vikings game

Tuesday the talking heads will panic because Dak misses Monday’s light work out. I can’t blame the networks the NFL is boring without Dak drama.

I bet Dak does not throw more then 25 passes this game and we lean on Zeke/Pollard. The Cowboys should also limit his role outs.

I don't think we'll win big but I would like it. Cook, Jefferson and Thielen will be a bad match-up for our defense and Cousins will probably dink and dunk us to death. Gotta hope for a big game on offense and some more key takeaways on defense,
The Vikings are probably the 3rd best team we have played this season.Every game they played this season was close. They could have literally be 0-6 or 6-0. They remind me of the 2019 Cowboys.

There is literally no way this defense hold the Vikings offense to 10 points.

No. Way.
