I trust the coaches and McClay at this point. If they feel as if the back ups on this roster are capable of filling in for a game or 2 then I'm going with that. In my opinion if Dak goes down for the season we are done but so are most teams in the NFL if their starter goes down.

The premise of CowboyDAK's post is not Prescott 'goes down for the season' - but if he has to miss a game or two (or three) - the backup QB is capable enough to help keep the team winning games in his absence.

all that does is give a worse draft pick. there is zero chance to win the superbowl or even a playoff game without dak, so there is no point having a good backup especially this season where the division is already ours....even if we had cooper rush for the rest of the season.

I understand but then that supports the notion we aren’t interested in trying to win without Dak.

And that would be under the assumption that every season is a SB or Bust scenario.

Most of all having a serviceable backup is more about winning a few games until your starter returns not leading you to a SB.

Correct.

Most teams season are over if their Franchise QB goes down for entire season but the difference is having a serviceable backup to come in and have the ability to win a few games to keep the season going so when the starter returns the season is still on.
