The Break by a mile. Eatman, Helman and Eagleton have a good rapport and they provide some good insight. I may not always agree, but at least it gives me something to think about. Ambar is tolerable if uneducated. I suppose a different vocal pitch provides a little variety, and she if better than she was in year one. Talkin Cowboys and HWTB used to be in my rotation, but for various reasons, they are just too annoying. I tried Media Mash once, but Steve Dennis? nope. His takes are just so dumb.

A lot of us listen to the various podcasts put out from the team’s media department. It seems two primary shows are Talkin Cowboys (w/Hekma Harrison, Isaiah Stanback, Kyle Youmins, Spagnola, Broaddus, etc.) and The Break (w/Nick Eatman, Dave Helman, Derrick Eagleton, Ambar Garcia, etc.).

The question is, which one you prefer and why?
Which ever one has a pretty girl on.

I’m just glad that they took Mickey off the shows and gave him his own....he would fight with people no matter the show and you could tell whatever show he was on they didn’t enjoy working with him. Way too much of a homer too and a know it all even when he was wrong.

By far The Break. I think Ambar has come a long way, she's been out on maternity leave but before that she was as on top of it as anyone else.

Same here. I’m glad he’s been exiled to whatever podcast he’s on that nobody listens to. Next stop? Out the door. Finally.

What's everybody's take on this new Bucky Brooks segment everyday on The Break? I'm not that big on it.

I actually really enjoy it. What is it that you don't like?

I'm glad you asked as it seemingly made me question myself. I started typing:

Well, I don't like it because.......
I mean, probably because........
I think the segment bothers me because.....

............and I honestly don't have a good answer for you. I guess my initial thoughts were "why is he here?" and "why do we care about his take?", but now that I actually had somebody ask me the question, I just don't have a really good answer. He does have good knowledge of football and he has brought some valuable insight.

So thanks for asking. Actually made me step back and try to find actual reasoning to myself as to why I had this judgement. I think it was premature and shallow of me to rush to judgment.

Been there, done that my friend!

I'm just glad that you reflected on your initial impression and reconsidered your position. It's nice to see an open mind.

Cannot stand Ambar like many on here, and def do not think she is even close to tolerable. JMO though, to each their own. I actually like Media Mash, esp with Slater and Machota on there because they both have a lot of experience and insight directly with the team, so its kinda cool to hear a non Dallascowboy.com employee on there. Dennis is def annoying as is CHill, but I like it as a change up. My mains would be Players Lounge, The Break, Hangin with the Boys, then Talkin Cowboys.

I used to really enjoy listening to Talkin Cowboys when Spags and Broaddus were on the show. With the cast they have now it’s pretty much trash. Hek’ma Harrison is incredibly annoying! The guy laughs at everything! Even his laugh is annoying. They come back from a break and he’s still laughing about something. He calls Rob Phillips P. Hey P! His enthusiasm is overblown. He tries sounding like a player. Hey dog! Calm down Fido! He sounds like a complete idiot! He’s always standing up during the podcast. He can’t even stand still. He’s certainly a happy go lucky guy. Not thrilled with Isaiah Stanback either. Him and Harrison go at it once in a while. Both of them are, Hey dog this and Hey dog that.

I even find Kyle Youmans annoying. He always has to take a big gulping swallow in mid sentence. He keeps repeating “say it with your chest.” Rob Phillips is the only one I like on the show. I listen mostly to The Break. I rarely ever listen to Hangin with the Boys. I find everyone on that show annoying. Tired of Jesse Holley’s sermons and rants. Nate’s bad grammar has worn on me. Shannon Gross doesn’t even sound like a football fan. Said he didn’t watch much of Hard Knocks. Says he doesn’t watch much football on TV because football is what he does. Sounds like he should be the host of Hee Haw. Kurt Daniels sounds like he’s half asleep. I seldom listen to Mick Shots. I find both Everson Walls and Bill Jones boring. Walls seems to have no clue about the current Cowboys team. I only enjoy listening to him when he’s talking about the old Cowboy teams he played for.

i like that Jesse Holley is a realist and calls it like he sees it. He does get too long winded at times though. And sometimes it’s like alright man, let’s move onto the next topic.

I love big Nate too. I feel like he would be the man to have a beer or two with and talk sports. But he does joke around a ton. Sometimes a bit too much.

I feel like they gave Mick his own show just because he has worked there so long.

Mick wanted a show where no one was going to argue with him. If you notice Bill Jones and Everson Walls never disagree with anything he says. It’s not like they agree with him, they just go along with him.
