I remember being very impressed with what McKeon showed us before getting hurt last year....I'd really like to see much more of him. Before dismissing him as a future starter, remember that Jay Novacek was once a 3rd stringer behind Junior Miller and Rob Awalt.
this happens when you have 3 EWRs and two RBs that take a lot of available balls.

seriously game will be lie this but with Gallup back and them loading the box and trying to take runs and easy throws away from Prescott they went to the wrs and why not?? they literally dared us to make the big passes and dak tore them up..they tried doing what denver did and paid dearly for it..

why after a azz whooping lopsided win, do fans come here and whine like little babies.. enjoy the dang win!!

who cares who gets the catches as long as the team is putting points up??

it makes no sense for the Cwill and now the where the TE posts, just dont need it..you take what the defense gives you and recently its wrs running W/O..

who CARES?

this is team game only so many balls to go around..the TEs arent being targeted when the wrs are wide open..im sure when needed in game where a team takes away other targets the TEs will get their day..its game to game league..last wee k we sucked , we dominated today, well the TE will get some targets and have big day soon.

winning is all that alters, needing marquee PB players at every position is not possible nor necessary..

Was this the first game you watched this year? Shultz has been killing it for most of the year. Some of that was situational as Gallup was hurt. New England starting double Shultz on 3rd down so he started getting more attention. With Gallup back we are going to see more 11 personnel.

He has been ok....hardly, killing it. He is a tweener at TE....TE's should never be gator arming wide open TD catches in the endzone.

Yes he most certainly was....you can apologize to me later.

From Wikipedia.....

In 1988, the Cardinals franchise moved to Phoenix and even though Awalt remained the starter at tight end, Novacek still ranked third on the team with 569 receiving yards and 4 receiving touchdowns. The next year with Gary Hogeboom instead of Neil Lomax as the team's starting quarterback, his production fell to 23 receptions for 225 yards and one touchdown.

I thought you meant Novacek was behind Awalt in Dallas (they both played for the Cowboys). I had no idea Awalt was even on the Cardinals. And now having said that, it's really kind of odd having two players at the same position (in this case TE), be teammates on a prior team and then join another franchise and be teammates again.

Shultz has that 4 or 5 game stretch where he was off the charts. He was putting up Kelcy numbers at one point.

TEs may be asked to do more dirty work blocking with the questions along the o line. I think they've played well considering. Plus when you have the relievers and rbs in the backfield catching passes they can afford to have them help with pass protection.
Excellent point.

With the injuries and other issues along the offensive line, I'm sure the TE's were less involved with the catching part and more involved with the blocking part.

These tes aren't that great. Everybody was annointing Schultz as one of the top tes. Lmao. He's not even a good te but he plays every passing snap like he is.

Then He turns back into a pumpkin and hasn't scored a Td in 5 straight games. Come playoff time we have better mastered a passing scheme that doesn't include too many of these 12 or 11 formations because these tes arent potent enough to win at the playoff level . I'd be using more Noah Brown and alot less of Schultz on passing downs. Otherwise we'll be 1 and done guaranteed.
We need production against good teams not just the Scrub division rivals

Lining these tes out wide is the most ignorant play calling I've ever seen. Lmao

There's like 7-8 tes in the League that have those skillsets and they aren't on our roster. Flat footed checkdown tes with no go up and get a ball skills don't win championships

Schultz has been great overall, but a lot of his success as a receiver has been due to play design. Happy to have him on the team, but TE is still an area we need to look at upgrades for in the offseason.
The TE at Notre Dame is a beast.......

Schultz was the most reliable player we had last season & he hasn’t done anything other than catch damn near every single ball thrown his way this year.

He has 36 catches for 438 yards and 3 TDs & he’s the 5th option on this team behind Lamb, Gallup, Cooper, and Wilson.

People wanted to move up and draft Pitts, he has 40 catches for 606 yards and 1 TD and he’s the #2 option on his team & this dude was supposed to be some kind of Greek Mythological TE.

Dalton Schultz has played extremely well and I hope to god we find a way to keep him and Gallup in addition to RG94 (the most important free agent).

..Oh and Pitts has played 1 more game than Schultz because we had our bye and the falcons haven’t.
