NFL is just sports entertainment?

Did he grab it or graze it? If he grabbed it and they didn't call it then it falls into the manipulation I'm talking about

You tell me what you see. And why would they want to manipulate for Dallas to win?

Number one, I'm not the one bringing up accusations so any burden of proof is not with me. Second, this really doesn't affect me all that much. It's a sport and I'm entertained by it. If it were rigged, I say just don't spoil the ending for me on who wins the Super Bowl so I can still be surprised. If you want to slip me some information so I can bet on it, great. I think some of y'all just over identify with supporting your team so much that any hint of not being a winner (a loser, to the layperson) and people have to go haywire proving it's not so to restore something within. People are far less upset with politicians outright lying to them than their sports teams and that mechanism works in much the same way to boot. Priorities?

You're entertained no matter what, you just said it yourself and so am I. We'll be back for more next week against NO.
After a game like that it's ok to question what's going on, always question something like that, always.
Some say it's foolish to consider game fixing, some think it's foolish not to consider it.

Either way we have no evidence one way or the other, so it's a good discussion

Another rule that changes everything....Offensive coordinators can't radio down plays 15 seconds before the snap. All communication is cut off per the NFL....why is that?

It's all about controlling the outcome.

And it all started under the Goodell watch...

Every off season...Another rule is added just to strengthen the leagues grip on deciding games. It's so obvious now....

It was never about player safety....that was just an excuse to change rules so refs had just another tool to dictate outcomes.

I can certainly consider it but without any hard evidence or exposé of some operation, the much, much more plausible explanation for these theories is that people need to make up an excuse for why their team lost and that refs are humans who aren't 100% accurate. The latter we know is fact. There are no facts on the other side of the fence of this, just suspicion. If this were something much more serious and life-affecting for you and your family, for example, which way would you bet? The side that has at least one set of facts or the other side with nothing but suspicious theories where there's personal bias to see them as such?

I recently met secretly with an NFL higher-up in a parking garage, and he assured me that the games are rigged. Then he said, "Follow the blue hair."
Did you wear a trench coat? Otherwise this sounds fake.

Apparently a lot of you think the NFL isn't legit, it's rigged. Refs more concerned with "their gambling buddies". Ok, those of you who think the league is more pro rasslin' than NCAA football convince me that yes the refs are dirty, and the games are rigged.

Been into pro football since the late 50's, the biggest change is the athletes involved, the game was never meant to be played by guys this big, fast and strong ,was never meant to be played on fake hard grass or 20 games in a season if playoffs.

Anyway....

Obviously the game started out legit, so when did it go from a sport to sports entertainment and rigged? Convince me the NFL is now rigged, you have the floor......

So before a game the refs get together and try to do all thy can to get the winner and the betting line covered, right? Make sure the Steelers cover that 5.5.....right?
Remember "This one's for John?"
Patriots win SB after 9-11?
Peyton gets a ring?
New Orleans wins after Katrina rebuild?
Eli gets a ring?
Eli got 2, so Peyton gets another.
The Cardinals go to the SB when they are getting funding for a new stadium?
The Falcons get a new Stadium and go to the SB?
Titans go to SB after relocating to Nashville?
Story lines go on and on.
As for the regular season, do you really believe that Dallas didn't have the game won vs the Rams in their opening game in their stadium? Jerry threw it to help them sell tickets.
And do you really believe that so many prime time games finish close by chance?
The NFL is the new WWF.
It's all about sales, hype, and now, gambling.
Just like boxing.

Is it an excuse or an observation? We lost because of penalties period. Whether the penalties were correctly called or not is questionable.
Here's a fact: The Raiders received (7) 3rd down conversions on penalties plus the overturned fumble recovery.
That's (8) change of possession calls that led to 27 of their 33 points.
Plus the refs took away the Shultz TD, The 40 yard Pollard run and called a terrible 15 yard roughing call on Parsons.

It’s sad, but many on here will have no clue of what you reference.

And your forgetting probably the biggest reason we lost...the NFL 's newest tool to keep players out...

That's the thing. None of you theorists ever provide any hard evidence. You see a bad call and create all sorts of stories about what could be behind it besides the simplest explanation of they just missed it. It's like you're endorsing that calls were statistically 100% correct for the first 5 decades of the league and now not 100% must equal something fishy because it's always been 100%. Not even stats like that are provided. Just haze.

Is it refs? Is it Goodell? Is it Mara? Is it a syndicate of other owners? Is it a government sympathizer? There's not even a cohesive story in the least. Just 100 droplets of spit launched in the hopes 1 lands someplace. Even then it wouldn't be because you were on to something, but lucky.
Right

The fact that officiating missed so many crucial calls costing teams over the years is why we implemented Instant Replay. It might be time to start reviewing some of these penalties as well.

Entertainment is for stage, screen, Hollywood and frustrated Cowboys' fans!
Otherwise, it's (by far) the most exciting sport ever to be found in existence!

The Thanksgiving game I can't comment on in its entirety because my attention was elsewhere with family and I haven't downloaded the game yet to watch without distraction. I saw a replay of the Parsons foul and agree it was crap. I also saw the Raiders center get called for bobbing his head while in shotgun, which almost all centers do so that was crap too. But when you point out equally crappy calls for the other team, there's always blowback that it's not the number of fouls, but when they're called. I heard "late, game-affecting" yet when I posted that Anthony Brown facemask no-call that would have given NE the inside track to the win, then it gets dismissed and people try to change the subject to Dak at the goal line. Lol. It's like there's always an excuse and always a minimization of crappy calls happening elsewhere. Sorry, but unless there's a study involving the 31 other teams, we don't have much of anything except crappy calls. Which can happen all by themselves without something sideways going on.

That one is close. I'm not in on the scheme so I don't know why but it's whatever the agenda is at that time.

If pulling a facemask in 2 different directions is close, we have a different definition.

So okay, you're saying there's no anti-Cowboys conspiracy exclusively. I didn't realize that so that's good to know. But you're saying there's roving agendas that switch up. Can't understand how one pins it down to know that what you suspect is happening, is happening in the slightest then. It's just seems like never-ending haze to me.

I read every post and he's my take after six pages.

Anyone who thinks the NFL is rigged knows nothing about how this stuff works. First off if the gambling biz thought NFL games were rigged and they were losing $$$$$ because of it, here comes some very serious situations the NFL wants no part of. And the TV honchos want no part of anything like fake pro football. What business wants to be associated to lies and bad business. So there goes all those sponsers.

Nothing is rigged, no refs don't do anything but the best they can, anyone thinking that isn't how things are is a fool.

The NFL has been with us since 1920, if anything illegal was going on we'd know about. Too many people involved to keep anything like fake pro football a secret.

Now if anyone could....

My uncle was an NFL ref for 10 years his name was Robert Helms, he told me about how he made $$$$$ from the mob for fixing NFL games.

Where is that kind of thing at, what......it doesn't exist? That's right it doesn't.

How far did pro rasslin' get trying to fake it. We all know that yes boxing has had fixed fights, we know about college basketball. Noway a fixed NFL would have last this long.
