Schadenfreude is best when it involves a division rival. Love it when they admit how good Parsons is.

After traveling to Miami on Sunday, the Giants face the Chargers and Cowboys the next two weeks. Which will put a spotlight on their decision to draft wide receiver Kadarius Toney in Round 1 this year, instead of offensive tackle Rashawn Slater or linebacker Micah Parsons.

The Giants had the 11th overall pick, but they traded back to No. 20, so the Bears could move up and draft quarterback Justin Fields. The Giants got a 2021 fifth-rounder pick, plus a first-rounder and fourth-rounder in 2022 from the Bears. Quite the haul.

This was a league wide thing with Parsons. It wasn’t just the Cowboys.

We were told several teams had Xavier Collins and the Kentucky backer were rated higher.

This tells you all you need to know about what they knew about his edge rushing abilities. They were all clueless and viewed him as a inside backer.

Only reason Parsons was available to us at our pick was because he opted out. If he played last year and showed half of what he has now he would have been a top 4 pick

This is silly. They got an excellent haul in the trade, Toney looks promising, and of course we don't know what those future picks will bring. That doesn't mean it will work out better than picking Parsons or Slater would have, but it doesn't make what they did a mistake. A rebuilding team should make moves like that.

Maybe but Jamar Chase set out and still went top 5.

The Eagles screwed up royally tipping us to grab a 160 pound WR but the Giants did what a bad team drafting outside the top 10 should do and stockpiled more picks. Toney is a head case and Diva WR but he is a heck of a value at 20. The Bears are awful and those should be quality picks in each round.

It had nothing to do with that, the hazing scandal and year off put people like horn and surtain over him. There was a huge consensus that players that took a year off were a red flag - he likely would have been a top 5 consensus pick if he played out his last year 0 chance for us to get him. Game tape minimal as he started only one season but maybe quinn did see something from the edge where he pounded the table.

discussion in the war room was between slater and parsons, and mccarthy straight up told jerry he would be a difference maker way more than that T would on our team

If this is true than McCarthy had to have gained some trust within the organization after seeing the way Parsons is playing.

You won't know until they're finished selecting the players they got with those picks. It will take a few years. From the trouble he gave Dallas, I think Toney is an excellent player. It all depends on what your needs & scheme are.

he would have gotten more tape as a pass rusher. the only tape he had was him as run stopping inside linebacker. he would have been in the top 5 had Penn State did what they said they were going to do and have him become more of a pass rusher.

He small though like Lamb. Lots of talent but may be hard to keep him healthy.
