Three 49ers weaknesses the Cowboys need to capitalize on

3. The Cornerback Situation
The 49ers have had issues with their cornerbacks since the beginning of the season. Veteran Josh Norman was benched in Week 17 after a pass interference call. Norman was allowing over 60% of his targets to be completed and these catches led to an average of almost 10 yards per target. Statistically, he has been one of the worst cornerbacks in the NFL.

2. The Right Side of the OL
The 49ers’ right side of their offensive line has been quite a weak point. Considering the Cowboys easily dominated Washington’s right side, this could be a huge advantage for Dallas.

If the Cowboys throw rookie linebacker Micah Parsons against the 49ers’ right side, Compton and Brunskill will seriously struggle to keep Jimmy Garoppolo upright based on the mismatch advantage (remember the Washington game a few weeks back?).

Even if 49ers fans want to argue that Compton and Brunskill have been better than expected, they can’t expect that to translate into being able to stop a strong Cowboys defensive line under a big spotlight. Between Neville Gallimore, Randy Gregory, DeMarcus Lawrence, and Micah Parsons, I see big-time trouble for San Fran’s offensive line.

1. Jimmy Garoppolo Interception Problems

The problem is that Garoppolo tends to send up shots in the dark and is one of the most interception-prone quarterbacks in all of football. He has thrown 12 interceptions on the year and some of them are jaw-dropping. That doesn’t bode well against a defense that is tied for first in takeaways and first in interceptions.

Garoppolo will likely be having nightmares about ballhawks like Trevon Diggs, Anthony Brown, and Jayron Kearse, who will be ready and eager to pick off anything he throws their way. Plus, if the 49ers’ offensive line struggles, big guys like Gregory and Lawrence may be able to get picks again if they can tip Garoppolo’s passes with high pressure.

I really hope Quinn sets Parsons free, this is the type of game he could have a huge impact on. If the right side is as weak as you say, and our big guys can take on some double teams it could open up some lanes for Parsons, they could have a field day getting to Jimmy.

Didn’t practice today. From the very little I’ve heard, some don’t sound optimistic that he will play
If he doesn't that would be a big plus for us. They were talking about it this morning on sports radio shows in the Bay/Sacramento area. For the life of me, I can't remember his last name. I remember they got him last year or the year before with a trade from Washington.

what they have weaknesses they sound like a 17-0 unstoppable force from all the media this week. Its crazy, they are 10-7 and all 10 wins not impressive inclusig an OT win to get in, yet they somehow have been labeled toughest matchup and many are picking them to win..

way over rated..they are going to be tough but so are we. if they have blueprint to becoming an unstoppable team, why are they a WC team? hmm.

we are being overlooked because somehow, we are being labeled inconsistent
not sure how fans or media can come to that conclusion

6-1 to start the season 5-1 to close it..thats pretty consistent, sure like most teams some parts of the team have had small dips but inconsistent, not like we won one, lost one, won one. lost one..lmao.

getting old being deemed underdogs for home game as a 12 win team,, if our players an coaches are as irritated with it as i am , we will have some motivated play coming Sunday. disrespect! , id say if that is motivation, our team will be so tired of hearing about the 49ers , they will be ready.

If he doesnt play that is huge. He could be the best LT in the game.
