The worst part is there is no hope going forward

I just have no idea where this team goes from here and the thought of starting this whole process over just makes me sick to my stomach.

They can’t just say this is good enough and if we clean up mistakes all will be well.

Lining up and doing the same thing over and over is just not the way and I think they have to fire McCarthy.

He’s been here 2 seasons and he was awful in year 1 and year 2 he beat a bunch of bad teams and nobody had an answer for the 2 high safeties. Also the lack of Pollard and playing Zeke was just criminal.

Dallas needs a culture change and they need a new face for this franchise right now but I know management believes in continuity and they get continuous results.

I just don’t know what they can do outside of a coaching change to give any hope to the fans.

Seasons like this one are the best we've gotten since it became the Jerry & Stephen show. There's little reason to expect more as long as they call the shots.

They've burned through over a half dozen head coaches and over 20 QBs, yet the results don't improve.

Fix the OL and your QB gets better. The defense is definitely on the right path. Special teams just needs a new kicker. Address all the penalties.

Can all that win in January? Not sure. Inconsistent QB automatically kills any chance I know that. Dumb coaching decisions are hard to overcome.

There's hope.

We blow it up right now, start a rebuild, and by the time Daks contract is up hopefully have a solid foundation in place for a real QB to take over and get to rolling.

There is no "win now" mode with Dak as the QB. That should not be the strategy. It doesn't matter how much talent you surround him with it'll be wasted.

I don’t want to hear about fixing things to make Dak better.

I watched guys with his pay grade perform and make plays with decimated OLines and WRs out.

Dak needs to help Dak. He’s paid to be the answer and he’s constantly a problem.

You know what the answer is for Dak? Take the game out of his hands and put it into a runningbacks hands. That’s what we pay 40 million for.

We need interior OL and DL players. They just aren't nearly good enough.

It is depressing for sure. We are stuck with Dak and Zeke. Zeke is a liability and Dak looked like Drew Bledsoe out there. His loss of mobility from 2016 is shocking. IMHO we should do the following:

On defense you need to let D Law and Gregory walk. Their best days are over and they have not gotten the job done. Even if the defense takes a step backward you need to get younger and stronger. Keep drafting and look for free agent deals. Hope Parsons and Diggs can continue to hard carry in the short term.

On offense we are stuck with a 40 million dollar statue at QB and a 20 million dollar blob at RB. We need to go back to the beginning and rebuild the line. You can not justify Cooper at 20 million. Draft O line and sign some O line help. Williams is gone. Collins should also be shown the door. At 10 million base salary he is not worth it. Same as defense even if you take a step back in the short term you need to get younger and stronger to have hope for the future.

The problem is Jerry will not allow any of it. He will resign all of his precious babies and we will get the same thing again only worse.

Then we committ 15 penalties and watch Dak go into a shell still.

We need those things but those things give me no hope or think we can win a championship.

The depressing thing is we haven't taken advantage of our opportunities. Of a weak division. Sooner or later one of the eagles, giants, or Washington is going to be competitive again, and it will be that much tougher for us to win anything.

I know you don't want to hear it but it is the truth. We need to invest heavily in the O line to try to get something out of the 40 million dollar man. It will come at the cost of building the defense but it is what it is and it sucks. There is no other option.

Oh I fully understand the OL needs to be improved.

I just don’t think it matters. I’ve seen Dak behind the best OL in football before. Didn’t matter.

I wouldn’t mind this. Better then being in a treadmill or mediocrity.

Yep.

I feel like this is going to be a similar situation to Garrett, granted not as long as a decade. McCarthy should be fired. But he won't be because firing a HC after two seasons means Jerry has to admit failure. He'll never do that. He'll keep McCarthy for 4-5 years most likely.

And yesterday was the first moment when I realized that we may have a QB problem. Not that I think Dak sucks. Not that I think he's terrible. He's a good QB. But he's not a great QB. He's come up small in big games this year. And we are paying him to be a great QB. Getting just average to solid QB play, especially in big games, while taking the cap hits we are taking hinders the team.

I guess there is a way to maybe "help" Dak (retool the OL, admit the Elliott screw up, etc.) but I am not sure Jerry is capable of being able to do that.

It's just a depressing feeling today.

I just don’t get how yesterday is the first time you saw this with Dak. He’s always been this way.

He’s stats Prescott. He’s great against bad teams and goes into hiding in big games.
