Argument is valid, but that ship has sailed until 2024. Beef up the OL and try to make it work with Dak. Dak has value when he doesnt have to carry the team on his back.

Not necessarily true. The Rams signed Goff to an equally bad contract and got out of that after a year. Now, obviously its not ideal- they gave up a lot of real estate and ate a buncha money to do it…but it can be done. I agree with Catch though unfortunately, I do not think Dak is the guy anymore. We will not go anywhere fruitful with Dakota Rayne Prescott as our starting QB, that is UNLESS we have a top 5 running game and top 15 defense.

We need a QB. Without one a playmaker makes no difference.

Have to improve the run game and take the game out of Dak’s hands.
Just coz you need one, doesn’t mean there is one worth picking.
Like it or not the majority of teams would like to upgrade their QB.
Maybe the GM needs to do a better job of building a better team/coaching/culture (take your pick).

I would start preparing for his replacement. There is no way I would sign him again to a bigger contract in 2024.

Maybe….and I don’t know what the goff cap hit looked like but daks in 2024 could be just $20 million. Until then you’re still looking at $40mm+ In dead cap just to move on from the guy. That pretty much negates the advantage of having a qb on a rookie deal.
I’m all for moving on from dak if it makes sense, I’m just not sure this makes sense given the cowboys cap constraints.

Build the offensive and defensive lines.
We don't need any more first round skill positions.
Fats a lot of good it did us anyway.
Notice how the Niners built around their offensive and defensive lines and demolished our star-studded offense.
We need to take a page from their playbook and build the trenches. Doesn't matter who you have as running back then.

I wonder if we can get a decent playmaker at 24. Any thoughts on who would be a good pick 24?
I'm not sure playmakers are the biggest shortage. Players to control the interior of the line of scrimmage on both sides of the ball may be the bigger priority

You need Oline and Dline, both of those should be the only considerations at 24. SF ripped your Oline apart, and you got little pressure on Jimmy G

You’ll still need to pay someone and are you going to be in position to pick a better prospect?
