Dak made it seem like they had a specific play for that distance they were at. I think they had some kind of trick play they were gonna run?

Maybe some type of hook and lateral or a screen pass to Pollard or something. I don't think we would've seen Dak throwing into a crowded endzone?

A 10 yard curl to an inside receiver would have taken up less time and allowed them to snap the ball. Basically anything but a run up the middle would have been better.

Had the run worked I think it would have been 4 verticals to spread the defense out and get a jump ball close to one on one

A pass in bounds would have been same results
One the run the covered the sideline
A Hail Mary from where they were or the 25 is about the same odds
But since the clock stops on an incomplete pass, you had the possibility of two Hail Mary attempts

McCarthy said it ....it was going to be a 5 vertical...hoping to hit the skinny post to Schultz. Would it have worked????
What I find telling is....your paying Cooper 20 million to be your 3rd option in that situation.

An inside pass would have burned at least 3-4 seconds less time and given the ref a free path to the ball.
