It could have just as easily worked against the other team.

My question is why didn't the staff know this amd plan for it?

Maybe call a play that doesn't require your WR to stare into the sun?

You really think the coaches should be placed in the situation of “hey don’t call any plays that involve routes in the middle of the field, for half the game”

it’s insanity.

Was it really the entire middle for half of the game? Not really.

Either way it's their home field and should know how to work around it. I'd halfway excuse it on the road.

This would be like Parcells back when not knowing how to play the tricky wind in the Meadowlands in January and blaming the owner.

I know for a fact, believe me or not, but a company that designs and installs solar panels made a pitch to incorporate them into JerryDome. He said they made a huge presentation to a group of about 15 people and they asked a lot of good technical questions.

However when it came time to make a final decision, they all deferred to Jerry because he made ALL the decisions, down to the last detail regarding the design and construction of JerryDome.

My point is, this business about the sun peering through east west direction, tinted or no tinted glass, height of the Jumbotron, etc. Jerry made all the final decisions. He's being coy about these being low priority issues, but he had a hand in all of them.

There’s zero reason to have blinding lights coming in through windows on a billion dollar stadium, which limits your playbook and playcalling. And the cowboys have to deal with it multiple games per year. Anytime they play at home and it isn’t a night game.

there is zero reason for it. Light coming through those windows is worse than just being out in the sun naturally because of the contract between light and dark.

It’s setting your coaches and players up for failure because you don’t have curtains or window tint.

it’s asinine.

Imagine being that rich and being that stupid.

It cost you POTENTIAL POINTS. POINTS IN A PLAYOFF GAME. Your job is to do everything in your power to win in the playoffs!

A better question is why it is always us getting screwed by the sun? It's our damn home field, can we not figure it out? It always seems to be Dallas players losing track of the ball in the sun.

I don't disagree with that.

But it's there! It affected US and not the visiting team. It's OUR home field.

It may be a little much to have expected the staff to have worked around it but it ain't on Jerry.

I'd blame Jerry Jones for world hunger if I could, but this isn't on him.

A power hungry owner who insists on maintaining total control over everything, ultimately everything is on him.

Instead of crying to the media about how angry and upset he is. He should be looking to overturn every stone to help the team win.

Jerry has dug his heals in on this issue. Just like he did with raising the screen when the stadium originally opened. He is more concerned with site lines and the overall viewing experience (like with an empty stadium) from a design perspective.

I worked at a company that remodeled an old building from the early 1900s. One of the floors was designed based on site lines and lighting when you entered the main area after you got off the elevator. Design wise it looked great. Functionally the design was flawed. However management wanted the specific view they paid for so everyone had to live with it. This reminds me of Jerry. Regardless of what anyone says, he wants what he paid for.

Bingo. It's like hearing Green Bay complain that it will be cold this weekend.

Difference is that Green Bay players can't avoid or control the cold weather. Where as Jerry can have the glare controlled or limited by getting curtains over the window. Also what's the point of having a home game or any sort of homefield advantage, if the home team has to limit their own playbook due to there being a problem with how the stadium is built?

Another reason he is a terrible GM. A detail that LITERALLY effects the outcome of a PLAYOFF GAME is minor detail to him. Absolutely pathetic. Inexcusable.

It's been a problem for years. It was no mystery to anyone going into the game,

Can anyone remember a time they they've EVER closed the curtains for an afternoon game? I can't.

Again I can't disagree....

But since neither staff was aware of this or considered it a factor (presumably), it could have gone either way as far it who happened to have the ball and where and when.

It could have helped us just as easily as it helped them.

Was it that big a play anyway? Patrick Crayton type deal?

I dunno there.

I hate even the insinuation that I'm defending Jerry Jones so don't get me wrong. All respect to you also.

Jerry will continue to brush it off but you can tell it is hurting him inside and there's nothing he can do about it! He is too proud to admit he was wrong

Anybody that listened to the fan now should realize with Jerry the future looks as dim as the last 26 years.

It is asinine, truly. We all remember the stadium's inaugural season, the first November afternoon game in Jerry's sparkling Taj Mahal, and that glaring sun shining through the back door into the players eyes. There was levity and kidding then. Not anymore. Bad management and losing has that effect.

Why is this even an issue?

Does the sun also affect the opposing team?

Is Jerry aware the sun sets in the west every day, and that team has an opportunity to use that to their advantage by practicing there occasionally to get used to it?

It's inexcusable just like all the other stupid things that happened to this team.

When you as an owner build a stadium like that and create a home field disadvantage what can we possibly expect from the team when you say you have every decision from jocks to socks.

Our plight as fans is to watch our team no matter what the talent level underachieve because of pure stubbornness and stupidity

emperor Jones he decides all !
We should be thankful though that he is into football, and not politics and being president.
