Has anyone seen the rumor about Cooper being traded to the Chiefs in the offseason? I don't believe it for a minute but I am wondering who started the rumor or who put it out there? Since I don't think the Chiefs would have any interest in Cooper I am wondering if Cooper or his agent started this rumor. It sounds like what an unhappy WR might want for himself.

no, i think NE it better option, because they need WR and have money and have the 21 pick, but dreaming the better opcion will be the Browns wtith the 13 pick, none of this year's receivers is better than Cooper

Cowboys probably trying to get something in trade for Cooper before making him a post June 1st cut if he won't take a paycut.

Post june makes no sense to me. Get that cap saving asap.

Work out a trade in the "dead of" offseason and make it official the day the league officially starts for the 2022 season, barring failing a physical. Instantly back in the black cap space wise.

I’m not in favor of trading talent away but for a couple reasons Cooper is a negligible presence. Might as well spin him.

Pre June 1 cut saves 16 million. Post June 1 saves 20 million.

So not a huge advantage to making him a June 1 cut. Further you can’t use his cap savings until June 1 if you designate him that. You have to carry him on your cap until June 1.

Given they are over the cap and will need to create space at start of FA to get in cap compliance and sign some players, there is likely no chance they would designate him a June 1 cut.

I think the Chargers make sense. They have the cap room, a good young QB, Keenan Allen on the other side.
