Fire MM put Quinn at HC, sign Brian Flores as assistant and DC, and search for a good OC Trade Dlaw and T smith, post 1june, take maybe 2023 2nd round pick each, Trade Amari Cooper for a 1st Round pick 2022, draft a T Smith replacement with this pick, cut Anthony Brown, and TE Jarwin, put Collins at RG, and Steele at RT, with the free money sign WRs Gallup and Wilson, TE Schultz, Ss Jayron Kearse and Malik Hooker, , make the transition to 3-4 defense, sign Von Miller, and make Parson OLB, if have money free, sign the players needed in free agency, like LB Foyesade Oluokun, and above all do a good job in the draft example with the 2 1rd pick select a DL and with this they can be a contender again,

Quinn at HC is not the answer - that's the hilarious part of all of this. Quinn can't fix what happened on Offense and then you are asking for a whole identity change - we need a Kyle Shanahan, Mcvay, Lafleur type coach and the funny thing is all 3 of these guys come from the same tree and are sitting in the NFL playoffs.

Here's my short three-step plan

First we need a coach like Jimmy Johnson

Second we need a center as good as Travis Frederick

Third third we need a defensive tackle as good as Haloti Nagta in his prime.

This should be good enough to get us a playoff win

My family are packers fans - they hate MM. I told them I did not care bc he was an upgrade over Garrett. First thing they told me is watch how they waste Zeke's career he refuses to run the ball. We had Jones on our team the whole time - we only started to run him when Lafluer came over and took pressure off Rodgers. If you look at GB right now - they take so much pressure of ARod because they commit to the run - and ADhillon will fare well for them in the cold playoff games a beast of a back. Give Ceedee a break here, they told me they wanted to cut Devante year 2 because he couldn't stop dropping the ball - he will learn.

Lafleur to Packers = more runs, less pressure on QB, more play-action, more opportunities for big plays to your #1 WR.

They have always had their problems on defense but it looks like MM poor run game decisions and clock management has followed him to this franchise.

That’s where you are wrong. Quinn is really good at hiring OCs. Word is that he has a killer staff lined up to follow him to Denver.

My plan to not be disappointed in 2022 is the same as 2021: expect the Cowboys to crap out in the playoffs, if they get there, because they've been doing it for 25 years.

If they ever actually win a trophy again it'll be a very pleasant surprise.

I agree. Love him as DC, but he already pooped the bed as a HC. Just have to look at the Falcons-Cowboys game last year.

What would be the point of trading DLaw and Tyron after June 1? They have to be under the CAP in March. And free agency ends before the draft so they need CAP room before the end of April. If you want to trade those guys it would have to be before the beginning of the next NFL season. Trading or cutting them does save about $23 million and puts them about $10 million under the CAP, maybe $5 million after the rookie pool is accounted for. But now you are without two of your top players. I don't disagree with the strategy necessarily, but this would mean lowering expectations for 2022 quite a bit. What if Gregory leaves too? Then they have no DEs. The defense would be pretty awful in that case.

I do see the need for tradeoffs though. They need to try to sign some of their players and to do that they need to clear a lot of CAP room.

Get a O-Line coach. The O-Line has to be fixed or it’s a repeat but worse. Teams have learned they can rush 4 and cover. Let the lb fill the gaps and stop the run..

Because some team may be interested in having this type of player, some desperate team that could not get good players in these areas in the draft or free agency may give you something for them. andTyron free up 13.5M and Dlaw 19M, if they could get a pick for them it would be a good move. and will have 3 2nd round picks for 2023, with the 2 1st round pick can pick a DL and OT easily to replace them, Gregory can be easily hired, he's going to have surgery, and I don't think many are interested in him. can be cheap, that money can be used to sign rookies, and any free agents that become available after June 1, they also can reestructure Martin a Collins contracts to have more money,

The offense needs fixing so put it on MM the offensive head guy to fix it. Give Jerry cause to fire or retain MM a year from now. Dan Quinn showed us how fast one good coach can turn around one phase of the game so let MM show he can do the same as our expert on the offensive side of the ball. One year.

Flores is in higher regard than Quinn. Around here anyway.

Giants fans and media are salivating over the guy.....the same people who basically got Judge fired when it appeared they would keep him.

Same folks don't even want Quinn interviewed.

Quinn may get a job elsewhere, but in no way is Flores working under him anywhere.

Nice response post. I agree. It's just that financial reality reveals yet again that their only way out is the kick the can down the road restructure strategy of unworthy performers at so many positions.

The letter C, boys and girls...
Culture, Coaching and Contracts equal continued Cowboy crisis. Or chaos. Any way ya wanna slice it, lol.

the Gary Kubiak coaching tree is dominating the playoffs right now, I would start there. Bill Walsh WC offense tied with an outside zone running scheme is what is successful right now. Take a look at this article... I know from niners nation but I'm doing some research https://www.ninersnation.com/2020/9/12/21409930/breaking-down-the-shanahan-coaching-tree-and-offense

These guys actually all were originally hired by Jon Gruden.

They drafted Aaron Jones in 2017. 2018 was MMs last with the Packers.

Agreed and I think a real center is the start of fixing the offense of line there is a tremendous drop off between what we had with Travis Frederick and what we have now at center

I don't see any of that happening. Not because I don't like your plan, you have a nice plan there, but Jerry doesn't think like that. He always thinks that adding this and that will get it done. If we have 2 #1 picks, we'd better go after a QB.
