Question first. Is MM a player's coach or everyones buddy? The players don't fear him enough to play disciplined football Imo.

Sean Payton is the best answer.

probably stephen, or pinhead jerry jr. sheesh might as well get "shy" aka pizzaface boy. keep it in house too.

I would respect Jerry more if he just made himself the HC and cut out the middle man...lets see what you can do since your calling the shots anyway..stop hiding behind puppets and put em on the table...

NO.

Honestly, Harbaugh isn’t a bad choice. Dude was pretty good about keeping his guys in line.
i don't think he could or would work with jj.
i think if he comes back to the league,he's gonna want control considering what happened to him in san fran.
with the raiders firing their gm...i could see him being hc/gm there.

This exact thing can be said about any HC worth the money..Jerry wont pay them and certainley will not give them control.....

yet if he wants out, they won't let him coach somewhere else without a HUGE amount of compensation and picks.

Is Payton worth all that extra money to get him here plus let MM go and pay MM his contract owed.

i don't think SP is that type of better to go after him.. you owe you current HC plus draft picks and buyout to NOS etc

thats steep guys..SP is a better coach but not by that much, remember his team went 7-9 3 times in arow right with Brees, last few years while hes done great job not overachieving enough IMO.

Me. If no HC is gonna have control but can pick his own staff and get paid millions then me. I will pick the best O-Line coach and OC and DC. I will throw the challenge flag and yell at the refs. Install some discipline and make them run laps or wind sprints when they screw up..

I'd hire Jerry Jones.....none of you would be happy, so it doesn't really matter....hell, bring Garret back.....doesn't matter.......they will get ripped and ridiculed even they go undefeated....just the way it is.....I would hire Brian Flores....

I know we are all talking about changes but I havent seen a post yet with who we as fans would want as that new guy.
So way things look Quinn will be gone, I doubt Moore gets a HC job. Do we do the Dallas usual and hire from within as DC and keep Moore as OC? To me this is than just a weaker staff.
If Im gonna flush Im gonna flush everything. My first choice would be Harbaugh. He is a hard *** and no nonsense guy, brings attitude and accountability and will make everyone uncomfortable including Jerry and Stephen. (probably why he will not get job but every right reason he should).
Let him bring whoever he wants over and go from there.
Im not familiar with a lot of college coaches or other coordinators but that is the guy I would want.
After that If we could pull a Payton away good second choice but not who I would really want. We need this type of coach here to offset the softness that clouds this team.
Tomlin would be another guy I would love to have.
Who are your guys and how do you think they would change our culture?
It doesn't matter who the cowboys have as head coach. Who ever they have will be Jerrys puppet.

I'm tired of retreads. I'd inquire about Chris Petersen's interest in returning to coaching. He's been innovative and productive throughout his career.

Kellen's not going anywhere and would perform better under his guidance.

Quinn's got a good nucleus to work with, and I think Jerry could entice him to stay in the fold.

i dont think money is an issue.
its control.
maybe im wrong...but with how things went down in san fran...i think harbaugh wants control.
i admit...i never thought parcells could or would work with jerry and he did.
but harbaugh just strikes me as a no...here.
probably headed to the raiders if he wants it.

Bill is a good sport but dont let it fool you, nothing that happened or was reported backs his "Me and Jerry where fine" story as he rides off into the sunset not burning bridges....

I’ve been a ardent Cowboys fan since the mid-70s and like others here, am angry and frustrated with this once-great franchise’s decline and their descent into mediocrity and apathy.

I do not see any good coach wanting to coach here…who would want to put up with Jerry’s meddling and undermine the coach’s authority? We are going to have to be satisfied with re-treads, or coaches out of their depth deferring to “Coach” Jerry.

MM is just another poor coaching choice in a long list of poor coaching choices. At this point I would be happy elevating Dan Quinn to head coach and have him keep calling the defense; and let him bring in his people. Letting Quinn go is merely weakening an already week staff with MM in charge.

But wouldn’t it be nice to have the Cowboys come out fired-up and schematically prepared for a big game? When was the last time that happened? Wouldn’t it be nice if to have the team play without these maddening inconsistencies in their from week-to week? So I am for whomever could achieve this, but is it even possible, or realistic with the Jones’ idiots running the show.

If this is JUST a change at HC only I'm not exactly sure on how to answer without considering how Jerry's meddlesome influence totally undermines any real sense of accountability.

BUT if I could also remove Moore from the equation and had to settle on the best remaining yes men candidates, my interview choices would be:

Peyton
Quinn
Flores
McDaniel
Daboll

Doug Pederson won a Super Bowl with Nick Foles. Surely he can do the same with Dak, who is much better.

Jerry should stop the charade and don his training camp hc outfit and just take over.

Seriously i think most fans would respect him more for it...again stop hiding behind puppets and put them on the table and show us what you got..at least we could end this groundhog day either way.

Keep in mind, the successful hc listed on these wish lists represent hc that had full authority to hire and hire as well as hire their own staff.

None of those factors will be in play no matter what hc the fuhrer selects and besides every coach knows that to accept the fuhrers hc offer means: a) you ain’t going to win a Div playoff game for those occasions where we actually mk the playoffs, b) your hc career dies in Dallas just like every hc post-Jimmy, and worst of all c) you are the fuhrer’s whipping boy and you will not be able to hire your own staff and all your players answer to the fuhrer not the hc.

As long as the fuhrer is running things, you could hire the greatest coach in history and it will fail. At least the Jones model has failed 26 seasons in a row with no signs of hiring a GM.
