Psst. The cowboys owner doesn’t call all the shots anymore either. That’s just the narrative they want you to think. I know this from one of Jerry’s oil business partners

And anyone that thinks Mark Davis and Danny Snyder aren’t the 2 worst owners in all of sports lose credibility.
Sorry man but that’s not even what Jerry himself says. I literally heard him say- twice within the last 8 months on radio that he is STILL the final authority on everything. Stephen says it too. If someone wants to provide some evidence in writing that says otherwise, show it. Jerry Jones is calling ALL the big shots.

Besides…what comfort is there if SJ is starting to take over? Lol. Zero.

After these upsets today, here’s some ripe perspective I hope the Jones boys get tonight: Joe Burrow wasn’t even born the last time that the Dallas Cowboys reached a Conference Championship Game.

Burrow has literally lived his whole life, won a Heisman and National Championship at LSU, got drafted into the NFL by the Cincinnati Bengals, and still beat the Cowboys to a conference championship.

Earth to Jones boys….that small group of teams who haven’t done squat in over a quarter of century just got smaller. And your #1 in revenue team is still on it.

Find a mirror, that set of curtains you don’t like, and stop playing like you know what you’re doing and get serious about turning this thing around.

Side Note:
Jimmy Johnson was 2 Super Bowls in 5 years.
Tom Landry won 2 Super Bowls in 29 years.

Jerry won 3 Super Bowls as "GM".
Tex Schramm won 2 Super Bowls as GM in 29 years.

None of the Joneses even did Zekes contract negotiations. They were ringing the bell in New York when it was done.

The reason they give Jerry credit is for business endorsements. They are worried if they say Jerry isn’t as involved the. Endorsement deals will go away.

those are 100% facts. Don’t believe anything he says on the radio. It’s all a sales job.

the football is being run by McClay. Jerry has final day on all big decisions like trading a first round pick or firing a head coach. But the day to day is all McClay and co

Notice these threads only pop up after losses. No mention when there’s big wins like going to New England and winning in the clutch.

Literally the best and worst thing that could happen for Dallas Cowboys fans would be for Mike Brown calling Jerry Jones and teasing him with, "My team is in the AFC Championship Game. Where's your team?" That poking would gnaw away at Jones' narcissism. Like Jones, Brown is another owner who made himself his team's general manager. The irony would be thick enough for Jones to viciously ask himself, "Why isn't that me?"

Brown is 86 though. Jones is 79. In his head, Jones would quickly comfort himself with the conclusion, "Well. I'll be around as long as Mike, so I got a few more years to match him."

Excellent yet very scary take.

Who cares?

If McClay is running the show now and the end results remain the same it's still the Jones boys at work. McClay didn't hire himself.

Every other organization with a GM opening the last 5 years have wanted to so he’s clearly not a scrub

But if Romo doesn’t fumble that snap in Seattle..
But if Dez catch was called correctly (still almost 5 min on game clock)…
But if that ref didn’t get in Dak’s way agin the 49ers…
But if Romo doesn’t throw that pick agin the Giants in 2007…
But if the refs and the nfl didn’t conspire agin us to ruin our reg season games and occasionally when we mk the playoffs a playoff game…

No sir, I won’t stand for this talk agin the fuhrer. If it weren’t for a few “bad breaks”, our fuhrer would have his first Super Bowl ring won without the players and dynasty Jimmy built.

Sadly Jerry only has 20-25 more years left before he is lowered into the ground at the 50 yard line where there’s an unfortunate accident as several workers, blinded by the sun accidentally drop the fuhers casket and …

Jimmy G beat Aaron Rodgers, so much for the "all about the QB" simplified thinkers on this board.

Is the QB important? Of course he is, it's the most important job in football. Is that all you need? Obviously, not. Such simplifications are reserved for the acerebral.

So the Cowboys are not only short at QB, they're short at other positions too.

While Jerry wrestles over his coaches, realize this team has more flaws than you want to believe. Then ask yourself if old Jerry can fix them.

This team is screwed. I don't like it, you don't like it, but that's our reality.
Truth.

Jerry is a great salesman. It’s the only way he’s kept this fan base hoping. Every passing year it gets harder and harder to sell his snake oil.

And yes, this team has talent issues at multiple positions. And is being led by a soon to be 80 year old “GM” who thinks he’s a “football guy” because of his bank account. And hires all his kids as executives with lifetime contracts regardless of results.

What could possibly go wrong with this formula? LOL!
Yeah but we’ve only been playoff irrelevant for just the past quarter of a century and the ol fuhrer has a few good decades left.

I hate to admit that I'm enjoying Jerry getting his massive ego shoved up his dark side, with no lube.

This is how he wanted it, so he could get "football guy" credit, and he's proven he can't do it.

Jerry has 3 three rings thanks to Jimmy. He should be thankful, but can't accept it.

I'm done with Jerry.
Ditto.

I’m somewhat mad at myself for believing in another Jerry Jones created team. And I’m serious about calling the Jones Cartel out. They deserve a lot more criticism from the fan base than they get.
Amen!!!

Tom Landry won 2 Super Bowls in 29 years.

Jerry won 3 Super Bowls as "GM".
Tex Schramm won 2 Super Bowls as GM in 29 years.
Extra side note: I would love to compare Schramm and Jones:
  • Schramm and Landry won 20 playoff games in 29 years, including 20 straight winning seasons, playing in 5 SB, winning 2, playing in 11 conference championships, winning 5, made the playoffs 18 times in 29 years.
  • Jerral Wayne and the 8 HCs he’s hired have won 15 playoff games in 33 seasons, won 3 SBs, played in 4 conference championships, winning 3, made the playoffs 16 times in 33 seasons.
  • Schramm and Landry teams never went longer than 6 years without a conference championship game and that was in their first six seasons and the last six seasons.
  • Jerral Wayne has now gone 26 seasons without a conference championship game.
I’ll take Tex Schramm any day over Jerry. He had a boss he had to answer to and the Schramm children did not hold executive positions for life. Neither did any of Clint Murchison’s kids or Bum Bright’s kids. The owners and GM who ran the Cowboys before 1989 apparently did not believe nepotism is a good thing.

If you like Jerry better that’s fine. We just have a difference of opinion.

Teams play to win Super Bowls.

Nobody goes into the season with the goal to NOT win a Super Bowl.

Are you seriously referencing Bum Bright as a positive in Cowboys history?

FYI: Bum Bright

84 9-7
85 10-6 Lost their only playoff game with a score of 20-0.
86 7-9
87 7-8
88 3-13

The 85 season included:
44-0 Loss to the Bears
50-24 Loss to the Bengals
20-0 Playoff loss to the Rams.

Jerry thinks its bad luck. So, it doesn't matter how many other teams bypass the cowboys in any given year. Its not skill or know-how.......... its luck.

That’s narrowing the narrative.

You failed to mention that Tex and Tom went to 5 Super Bowls, 12 conference championship games , had 20 consecutive winning seasons leading the league in playoff wins.

What would you rather have?
