It's a very good piece to have back. Heck, depending on the season the Dallas HC position may be open next year.

Why is it risky. There will be HC openings next year as well. Maybe he did not like the situations with any of the teams.
Improve the defense and go further in the playoffs, his asking price could go up.

Maybe the team did not want to pay that much more for him to stay in Dallas, and Texas (no state taxes) to eat at part of the pay.
Maybe teams did not want to give the freedom as a HC would want, or to hire his own staff. Many reasons involved from both sides.

The bolded part is far from a given. Sure we all hope so. But what if the defense is average or worse, and the team fails to make the playoffs?

So, does that mean we get to keep Jayron Kearse as well?

Might be able to keep quite a few of the FA's.
Kearse and Neal (but he may have another year on his contract anyway), I hope they give Hooker another year. Get him through a complete off-season.
Kazee can move on though.
LVE, I know he is a haters whipping boy on here. But for a decent contract, I would not complain if he stays.

He's turning down job offers or just isn't getting any so he "withdraws" his name form consideration?

The downside of this is this probably makes a DL overhaul less likely as I'm sure Quinn will overrate guys he knows.

I think he rather draft more of his own guys.

Yes, may want to resign guys like Kearse (good), Neal (maybe, if the price is at value).

But guys like LVE he probably rather just draft his own LB's, Safeties and DE's.

I think this team goes heavy on the defense again and offensively just OL and a later round TE.

True, but it is the chance one takes.
He and MM and the team have confidence they can and will improve.

I must say, I'm shocked. I guess Jerry has the powers of persuasion.

Quinn has stated several times he wasn't leaving but some of our fanbase like starting obnoxious threads lol.
if he was so set on leaving, why did he interview with teams for their HC position?
He wasnt getting the Denver job, and it is good to pull yourself out of the running, thus making it like you are still the hot commodity.
