somebody is going to overpay, pass rushers are always getting overpaid and he is not young anymore.

You’re probably right but I’m hoping maybe RG gives Jerry the family discount. If he does leave DE becomes a high priority.

But team sources tell CowboysSI.com that part of the construction of the deal, when executed, will give Dallas about $16 million in 2022 cap relief.

Hey, that might be enough to retain Randy Gregory.

Pass rushers dont grow on trees!

Cowboys!
I'd rather give up Gregory than digging that hole deeper and deeper.

You know, when people have a take like what's in this thread, I'm curious what you think Dallas can/should actually do it.

Joe Burrows was picked #1 and Dallas hasn't picked #1 since 1989

And Lamar Jackson is the only pro-bowl QB taken *after* the Cowboys first pick since we've had Dak and I get the feeling, he wouldn't be too popular here either with his 1-3 playoff record

I mean we *could* have signed Brady...but I think it's laughable to think he was going to come here. And while we may have had more post season success this year with him, he wouldn't have been the difference between us and a Super Bowl last year with our defense last year.

I guess we also could have traded a ton of draft picks to move up from #17 to #1 for Joe Burrow...except according to Ian Rappaport the Dolphins offered three #1 pick including #5 and it was rejected

QBs are hard to find, we're spoiled in that we lucked into Romo and Dak without spending any real resource (Quincy Carter is the highest QB we've taken since the 1989 supplemental draft and that was the 53rd or so pick)

And sure, we can blow the team up and suck every year, but how many times have the Bengals picked in the top 5 since 1990? 8...including *four* #1 picks. How about Cleveland? Nine times, with *four* #1 picks

How many times have we picked top fiver during that time? Twice...never high than 4th

And that's not to say I'll take our lack of success since 1996 over the Bengals. They're playing for a Super Bowl next week so that trumps our accomplishments

But losing in order to land a QB isn't the smart play like some think, and we honestly haven't had a shot at a QB better than Dak in free agency

Too late for that.

I suggested getting Tom Brady on a 2 year deal and letting Dak walk.. We’d be sitting nice right now.

I don’t know what this team is going to do really lol. They need a Super team to compete with all these juggernaut QBs. Luckily a lot of them play in the AFC.

Yup. And I remember fans laughing and saying why in the world would you sign a washed up QB for a couple years tops, when you can have Dak for the future....

Kick that can!

(He's presently scheduled for "zero'' salary in the final year of his contract, when he's 33. This move will change that.)

‘Change that’. As in add even more to the $13.2 million they will already be paying in 2025 to not even have him under contract.

The team just digs those holes deeper and deeper.
Exactly.. stupid thing to do,I'd rather restructure Zeke or dlaw, but I'd prefer not to do anything and let it play out, take our lumps and hope the cap increases more in 23 and go from there.

Dak Haters tell us the Cap Hell Story Again?

Dak Haters lied....AGAIN!!:lmao2::lmao2:
Tonight i have watched a very average team with a great young QB make a SB.
A team that we as Cowboys fans have ridiculed for many years but have now reached two SB since we got there.
I have wasted a fair chunk of my life suopprting this team with my money and time to listen to children like you continuing to supprt the 40m handicap we call a QB.
If you cant see it for what it is now probably time you tried another sport.

As long as we have the best QB in the NFC East it gives us a chance every year.
Exactly, unfortunately once your in the playoffs the new season begins, anyone can be one and done.

Dak gives us the best chance to win. Does he need to improve, sure, but he’s light years above the competition in the NFC east.

We are out because we shot ourselves in the foot with poor discipline. We need to stop blaming refs and worry about what we can control.
