Cowboys Fans aren’t the only ones who are conspiracy nuts

From the Chiefs message boards:

  • While I didn't think it would happen like this, it was pretty obvious this is the outcome they wanted. I know we've been made to believe teams like Cin can come back from 18 down like it's nothing, while the team with the best qb in the league only scores three points, but that's not realistic. Can it happen..sure..and that is where they get most people. With how KC was playing they should have torn Cin a new *******, but it's NFL entertainment. Talent doesn't matter, players don't matter it's all about money.
  • That second half looked like a masterclass in point shaving.
  • The NFL is just like any other job, you do what your boss tells you to do. When you see Goodell in the press box and you’re the home team, it’s not a good thing for you.
And I thought our conspiracy theories about the refs were bad.

I personally don’t think the NFL is rigged. Or at least not at a level where the league can guarantee a “fixed” outcome. It’s funny to see how other fanbases go through denial like we do sometimes.

I live in KC and to be honest, their fans are in shock. I also listened all week long to local sports talk shows prior to the game and they didn't give the Bengals a chance either...again they are in shock. Locally, they are also screaming that Mixon's run in OT was a fumble. What plagued KC the first half of the season when they struggled, reared it's head in the second half. Their D, questionable play calling and poor choices by Mahomes but some fans don't want to accept it in my opinion. Misery loves company, so I hate to admit it, but I am enjoying it. Their fan base has been spoiled by KC's success but for those of old enough to have lived in the 90's... I get it.

Not rigged, and the refs are not in collusion. (shock coming from me right?) :muttley:
However, I think some refs are a bit biased for and against certain teams / players. Or else, why do some refs call or do not call penalties the same way each time, and for or against certain teams.

Such as, Brady and Rodgers, Big Ben get breathed on, and gets flags. Dak, and Cam Newton, a few others, get killed, but no flag.

The NFL refuses to do anything about it, so therefore, it seems it is rigged, or maybe the better word is "weighted" for certain teams and players.

However, I did notice, later in the season, and in the playoffs. Brady and Rodgers did not seem to get that treatment, if anything what normally would be in their favor, was not. That was good to see.
As for Dallas against SF. Dallas screwed themselves, by playing just awful. Yes a few controversial things, if you could call them that. But if they were disciplined and played better, those would been a non factor as in most calls.

I complain, and mostly in the heat of the moment in game threads. And to get a response for fun. But many bad calls, or non calls seem to happen at weird times to us. That is a fact.
Doesn't matter at this point, can't do anything about it. Not going to waste brain cells on it.

Looking forward to the off-season moves, and improvements, if any.

Misery loves company. Given how they blew that game their fans have to be losing their minds.

I can only imagine this place if that had been the Cowboys blowing an 18 point lead to miss the SB.
..lol.. .hey, you know that one hurts. 18 pt lead, only to lose. One game away from promise land.

..lol....what are Dallas fans doing over at KC message boards? ;)..
Answer: Getting new material to post on a Cowboys fan message board. Unfortunately the new material is ancient old.

It does take a slot away on the Fan Zone's front page from the umpteenth Prescott criticism thread. Can't have enough of those, let me tell ya.

You know it hurts when folks convince themselves that the NFL conspired to get one of the least popular teams to the Super Bowl.

It's almost as silly as thinking they conspire to keep the most popular team away from it.

This is a fair point. I think there may be more to it than we think though. The advantage vet players and well coached teams can get is huge. I'm sure part of it is style of play, as well as vet qbs ability to play the refs a little bit. I'm sure after playing for 20 years Brady knows every ref to some extent. I think a big part of it is having a coaching staff with that ability to pay attention to the fine details. I've heard multiple stories from ex patriots players who have said that Belichick goes out of his way to get his team the penalty advantage. One is example was he makes recommendations on what color gloves players need to wear week to week. Reason being if they are at home and the away team has white jerseys white gloves will let you get away with more holding calls than colored gloves that make your hand position stick out. Seems like sometimes its not who can teach their players not to commit penalties, but who can teach their teams to not get caught.

KC was up 21 to 3 with a chance in the redzone to extend the lead and failed. Go in at halftime 21 to 10 with the ball to start the 2nd half? It was their own screw ups and defensive play of Cin that cost them. Even getting the ball 1st in OT which everyone made a big deal of last week of how unfair it was, well KC had their chance and failed no ones fault but their own.

I mean there might be a certain subconscious bias to look at some teams or players a little more harshly than others, but that's as far as it goes and in many cases it's probably deserved. Commit alot of penalties, get more penalties called against you.

I have not seen it yet, but has anyone talked about Mahomes making a poor decision to throw the deep pass in OT. Maybe he thought he had single coverage. Did not see Bell coming into the area.
However that was on him, and why that play call.
If that was Dak, he would be getting roasted for it.

I heard him on NFL radio this morning he knew there was a double team on the play and said so.

But yet he is not getting roasted for it, at least on here, or from what little I seen this morning. I have not watched too much of any pundit talk yet.
Maybe late this afternoon, when I get all my stuff done.
