Smart. He should absolutely begin negotiating now. He has nothing to lose at this point except playing and getting injured which is a high probability for a running QB in the last year of his contract.

Smart? Thats debatable. He simply folded down the stretch. He signed a deal, he needs 2 fulfill what he signed. He doesn't need to come off looking like a petulant child. Cards have 0 choice but to re-up with him. He will get his $. He doesn't need to create drama. Cards and the NFL owe him squat.

I dont know anything thing about Murray other then he was a nightmare to play against. The way the Rams shut him down was stunning. Was it tired legs or just a Superior Rams team. A little of both but Murray is mortal. We need a better pass rush
Rams just had a better plan and executed it. We never did.

Wasn't impressed with him in college and not impressed with him in the NFL. But this is all on the owners, giving QBs all the leverage to the point they can do diva things on their social medias and still get paid big money despite proving very little in the NFL.

That's the thing- he IS a petulant child. I was extremely perplexed by the Cardinals downfall this year and took the time to observe them and more specifically, to observe Kyler. What i gathered was that Kyler Murray is a grown man-child with a negative outlook who is nowhere near a leader. One of the few young starting QB's currently in the league whom I definitively would NOT take over Dakota Rayne. Kyler might have more arm talent, but his personality, charisma, and leadership qualities are nearly non-existent, and tbh his arm talent isn't even as great as it's hyped up to be. One of the most overhyped QB's ive seen in recent memory.

I wouldn't play without a new deal either if I was him. If Dak makes 40 million per Murray should sit out until he gets 40 million per year plus.

Signed what deal? He's in the last year of his contract according to over the cap. He will make 11million this year, basically backup money and no guarantees for the future. I never said anyone owes him anything which is exactly why he should push for a deal now. He is the one with something to lose should he get hurt. I think you are way overblowing this drama as you put it. If the Cards don't want to sign him, then its not a big deal that he's prepared to move on and if they do want to sign him then it's still in their best interest to get a deal done early. I said its smart in refrence to kyler wanting to get a deal in place, and it is and I stated why. I never said its smart for the team to give him one those are 2 different things.

He had a decent season overall, but he should not have made the Pro Bowl ahead of some others.

Diamondbacks. He’ll quite football and play baseball, lol. Doesn’t take that much of a toll on his body and the contract is guaranteed.
Do the Athletics still own his rights?

Murray is trying get an extension.

He's their franchise QB an extension was coming. Curious to see if Murray is really considering a move to MLB. He was drafted top 10 by the A's, there's EZ money in football baseball arbitration rules are a pain.

I wasn't 100% sure what he was referring but the info I seen he's in the last year of his rookie deal so it's not like he had much of a choice. I know i'd want to have a long term deal hammered out before playing if I was him.

He's not playing for chump change. 11 mill is pretty darn great. Cards have all the leverage and he knows it. Thats why he's trying to create some for himself. Cards have no choice but to extend him eventually. They may tag him and let him play out his deal this year. THAT would be smart for both parties. There is nothing that would make the team rush into a deal right now. They can take their time. He's under contract. They can tag him next year. Why commit to a guy Longterm when you have 1 year remaining on his rookie deal? Kyler should bet on himself.
