he signed it. Fair or not. Dak got his $ so will he. Pouting about it on social media accomplishes nuthin.

1. there's not much choice in signing a rookie deal
2. how is he pouting?

I wasn't 100% sure what he was referring but the info I seen he's in the last year of his rookie deal so it's not like he had much of a choice. I know i'd want to have a long term deal hammered out before playing if I was him.
Yeah..but the Cards do not operate like that. I don't blame them in this case.

he could have chosen baseball instead. He had a choice. He was drafted by MLB if I'm not mistaken. HIS CHOICE. How's he pouting? He took down all his cardinals related social media, scrubbed it from all platforms. That was no accident. That is a childish ploy. What message is he hoping to send to the team and fans? Terms of endearment? Must be the new norm.

I would even go a step further and say he might just be taking a mental break from football for a couple weeks. I know some players who deleted everything referencing their team every offseason and people always read stuff into it (though one of them loved trolling the media) even hen they were happily under contract.

THE Oakland A's drafted him with the 9th overall pick. HE HAD A CHOICE. He can always quit and play baseball. The $ would be greater.

the 1 question I may ask is this, is he all in? Is his heart in it all the way? Meaning, is football his passion? or is it baseball? It matters.

He's their franchise QB an extension was coming. Curious to see if Murray is really considering a move to MLB. He was drafted top 10 by the A's, there's EZ money in football baseball arbitration rules are a pain.
No players but maybe basketball superstars make the money that quarterbacks make on a yearly basis when this salary cap explodes in a few years. That is why some players have signed short term deals.

He's not playing for chump change. 11 mill is pretty darn great. Cards have all the leverage and he knows it. Thats why he's trying to create some for himself. Cards have no choice but to extend him eventually. They may tag him and let him play out his deal this year. THAT would be smart for both parties. There is nothing that would make the team rush into a deal right now. They can take their time. He's under contract. They can tag him next year. Why commit to a guy Longterm when you have 1 year remaining on his rookie deal? Kyler should bet on himself.

If they have no choice but to extend him then how do they have all the leverage? All they have is his rights for 11 million guaranteed this year. That's all he has too. They can change all that and if they know they will extend him then waiting helps no one. And the reason they should extend him now is waiting will cost them more. Sure he can bet on himself if he wants but there's a chance he breaks a leg like many QB's have done before him and then he really loses. A deal now still means he wins, the team wins if they are going to sign him anyway as you suggest.

leverage is the tag option after 2022. Nothing he can do about it. Unless he wants 2 sit out or play baseball. BTW signing the tag in 2023 is not a bad thing for him. He would make like 25 mil I think, just for 1 year.

Its always someone's choice to enter the nfl but the contract isn't of his choosing that was slated by his draft position. Eitherway I don't see it at pouting but you do. so were gonna disagree.

and they may do a deal now, nullifying his last year..or wh knows. I'm just saying, they really are holding all the cards..pun intended. The tag is their friend.

Maybe who knows. Most here speculate why without any other info. I haven't seen any public statements from Kyler about anything so I don't think it is a big deal.

Lets say he gets a similar injury to what Dak had couple years ago. Think they tag him then?
Yeah I do. Because I think they are committed to him. Cliff Kingsbury is tied at the hip with him. Would they sign a vet QB in that case? YES...just like we did. Injury is part of it. I think they might tag him in 2023..just a hunch.

Of course they do but I'm not gonna bash a guy for trying to do what's best for himself. He gets paid the 11 million either way

? every decent player gets a 150M contract in MLB. Superstars get 300M+
