Micah Parsons played phenomenal in his rookie season, but what's next?? Are we going to have this player with high altitude continue to play well, or is he going to go backwards. The way he talks, he's going to at least put the effort in to be great, there's no way you can get mad about that!!

I just want the cowboys to put the guys around him and everyone else so we ALL can be successful, what are your thoughts on this NON BASHING post about Micah Parsons!!?????

I can't post a link and I don't remember where I read it, but Parsons has hinted at only playing for a big pay day. The way he was wording the comment he was saying he was busting his hump like a son of a gun mostly for that reason. This shouldn't surprise anyone.

Right now he's bringing the necessary passion and saying all the right things, but others have done the same and failed to produce once they got paid (Dak, Zeke, etc.). I hope that when the day comes and Jerry overpays him like he does everyone else he still has the desire and passion to keep playing at a high level.

Enough about number 11?

#11 makes #90 expendable. Which frees up a ton of cap. And #11 will be re-signed as a LB not a DE, keeping his cap count down. So the 11 that you don't want to talk about, will do even more for this team in the long run.

Once again we rush to label another rook as HOF material.
Does anyone remember Mr. Lamb who Jerry made it mandatory he wear the # 88?
Parsons played against a bunch of terrible QB and teams this season.
Personally, he belongs at DE but that is not my decision to make.
To summarize we will have a better idea of his talent level after next season.

Is that a way to talk about your neighbor dear?! :muttley:

All kidding aside. I understand completely what you're saying. We thought the same with Zeke in his rookie season thinking he'll be the new Emmitt only to see his game decline after his big payday.

Parsons COULD pull an Elliott hold-out. Then Cowboys Nation will be all over Jerry to pay him. When Jerry does & IF his play declines, Cowboys Nation will be all over Jerry for giving him a big contract.

But then again, Parsons could just be another Sean Lee continuing to play hard for 14 years or, until his body says it's time to retire. Both are from Linebacker University & not Ohio State. There's a good chance Parsons plays for the love of the game as did Lee.

It's a catch 22 no matter how one looks at it.

I wouldn't be so sure that he's just going to lay off or that his agent is going to lay over and take LB pay when he is clearly a dominate pass rusher in this league

I got nothing against Parsons. He and Diggs might be the two guys interested in winning and putting in the effort. Of course so much of this depends on what happens from here on out. Will he continue this high motor play or will the country club atmosphere grind him down?

The optimist in me says, if used properly, he's the next LT and an inner circle HOFer.

The realist in me says he will fall into the culture of this organization and regress, while never being able to duplicate his rookie season, and will hold out and sign a market setting contract anyways.

After seeing Zeke, Dak, and LVE all peak as rookies, I'm hoping Parsons isn't another flash in the pan who fades once he has money in his pocket. Great rookie year but he's got to come back next year and repeat it. That's going to be tougher with OC's getting a whole off season to study him.

I didn't want to say this but it is exactly what I was thinking.

I disagree. When he is franchised, they will bring up how many downs he played at DE or rushed the QB.

This narrative also kind of fits with the Covid year off he took in college. Ultimately, I think Jerry is the poison pill that allows guys to "relax" once they get paid.

He’s our best player on the team. They need to put some monsters in front of him and get a running mate at LB. Let the Lion hunt.
