They let McCarthy do that once. He picked Mike Nolan.

That's because Jerry only hires first-time HCs or retreads desperate for another gig, who no one else wants.

Hire a better head coach and get out of his way. But ol' Jerry doesn't want that. Coaches like that will push back against his fantasy football game with his son.

like Nolan and Philbin?

Yeah, but Jerrah is known to be inconsistent. He'll let the Head Coach bring in some people and then we keep others who have been here like the OC for example, or he may bring in someone else. I mean who here would be surprised by a Jerrah like move like bringing in Mark? One time people had a sort of emotional attachment to a former Player, that was Jason Garrett, and people were remembering Garrett memorable game against Green Bay when he played in place of Troy. When it comes to coaching, people need to be able to leave behind those kind of things and just trust the Head Coach and if he makes the wrong moves then maybe he is the wrong guy.

All you need to know is he's STILL available after two years.......highly unusual for a solid assistant coach. In fact, I'm more inclined to think he's not interested or waiting for the right opportunity. NFL coaches circle is a close fraternity who look out for each other, hard to believe he hasn't had offers.

This is very simple there is no cap on coaching so just pay for the best because our offensive line is underachieving pile of spit.

He also picked Bones so it’s a wash

Nolan influence > Bones.

I can't call that a wash. Nolan was that terrible. MM is still in the minus column. He's also responsible for Philbin.
